Collins and Manchin say they'll vote yes. That secures it barring any surprises. Unfortunate to say the least.
The head of the local Democratic party has been spending a lot of time at the gun range from what I hear...
It’s not a criminal trial. It’s also not a civil trial. Isn’t that what most of you keep throwing in the rights face when we say, “innocent until proven guilty”? So right back at you....
Collins said something interesting, along the lines of: "when passions are inflamed the most, fairness is in the most danger". True that! Mob rule doesn't cut it.
It has everything to do with what you said. People keep saying that this is nothing like a criminal trial and to stop saying, "innocent until proven guilty". So Blumenthal's example and your support of it is invalid.
No, seriously, how does one go from northbound I-95 to eastbound I-80? That's like following I-95 from New York to Philly without leaving I-95 before March this year.
If she votes no..... You'd be in line to kiss her ass and be going on about how she stuck it to the rapist supporters in the GOP.
She's been around my whole adult life. I don't know her as well as say, my cat, but I'm quite familiar with her sneaky waffling bullshit. I said weeks ago she couldn't be trusted. If she'd voted no, I'd've breathed a sigh of relief, but I wouldn't be cheering her on. Do you remember a politician I ever did cheer on? This is not a class of people I draw my heroes from. I'd've thought you'd know me better by now.
Right. In a job interview, you're not hired until proven guilty. It's on you to convince them you're more worthy for the job than anybody else.
I flunked an interview for Lechmere, because my pencil missed, and checked the teensy little square that said I had a criminal background which was a silli-milimeter next to the one that said I didn't. I was like "whoops, that can't be right, well, I'll be, I did check that, that's a mistake". Nope, couldn't talk my way out of it, I was done. Now, you'd think pussy and titty grabbing, and lying about it, and throwing a crybaby fit while lying about it would be a bigger deal than the wrong teensy box filled in with pencil lead. Nope, apparently, it's the opposite. Who knew? Kooky country.
I agree, but I'm sure that like most everyone else they believed Hillary was going to be next in line.
which just goes to show you can convince ill-informed assholes to believe basically anything. Which is why we are where we are as a nation. Also, fuck Rasmussen. Basically a right wing house organ.
So, you have an illegitimate president "elected" by a minority and credibly accused of doing so by criminal conspiracy with a foreign power, aided by 51 individuals who collectively represent 44% of the population (and who, more than likely, are compromised on various levels themselves but that aside), ramming through a Justice who will for decades taint the legitimacy of every decision in which he partakes bringing disrespect on the last kinda-respected institution in the republic, doing so with the aid of a cover story created by manipulating the supposed-to-be apolitical institution that the illegitimate president has been trying to destroy since he took office, and said justice stands to be a key figure in decisions which they all hope wi9ll insulate said president from any consequences from his lifetime of crime and illegitimate campaign behavior so that at the fast approaching twilight of the Noble Experiment all faith in government is destroyed, power rests in the hands of those most corruptly willing to sell their actions to the few hundred mega-wealthy oligarchs who cannot be touched be the exploited populace because they already own any institution that could threaten them. And right-forge grins and says "But man did we own the libs! Gooooood times!"
There is a certain additional satisfaction to these victories in light of all the belly aching, histrionics and derangement. What a vile 'anything goes' display from left this last battle. And probably it will keep on coming - unhinged-sounding Soros employees filmed at work screaming about SCOTUS legitimacy outside the courthouse or on capitol hill (which I predict) broadcast almost daily on the Democrat News Networks (also predictable and predicted) will encourage turnout in the opposite direction just a readily as conniving demagogues like Bernie (or their dupes like Cortez) claiming (insanely, really) to support socialism for the US. Keep it up, leftnuts, you easily exceed Trump at being your own worst enemy.
Let's not forget that Susan Collins supported Al Franken's resignation for far less. Partisan hack, plain and simple.
If only they could have been as reasonable and grounded as all those on the right saying that Kav should have been seated even if the allegations were true.
Now they are complaining about Republicans- taking joy in this victory. This after spending the past few weeks smearing an innocent person as a rapist, smearing those who had an opposing viewpoint as misogynists and rape enablers and hounding Senators at their home or wherever they went. Fuck them. Get ready for calls for ending lifetime appointments on SCOTUS. Already seeing the articles . Pretty sure a sour grapes left winger will pick this up and run with it.
