Because they don't want to get sued. Most companies these days will not admit that they fired someone because they run the risk of being sued if they do. It sounds silly, but I'm sure we've all known someone who got fired for a bullshit reason. You know, like the boss tells the employee to do something which any fool would know was going to end in disaster. The employee does it, disaster happens, and rather than admit that he was wrong, the boss fires the employee. If the company gives a vaguely worded reason why the employee no longer works there, they're less likely to be sued when that employee can't find a job.

    No kidding.

Now tell that to the news managers who get pissed off when a company won’t comment on a firing or layoff.

The double standard is tiresome as fuck. :brood:

the company I work for has this policy too. They can't officially bust on ex employees but people talk & gossip so word gets around eventually - human nature and all that.

You do realize your glorious leader is attempting to do the same thing to the whistleblower in his case? How the fuck do you complain about that when you have a permanent trump shit circle around your mouth and on your nose?

Because you touch yourself at night, that's why! Okay, that's not really true. The reality is that some wypipo think that this is funny because they haven't had to deal with the consequences of their actions. Seriously. Intellectually, I knew that POCs often got the shaft when it came to the legal system but I didn't fully understand just how bad they had it until I wound up in court for a minor traffic violation. I'm sitting there in court, wondering what's going to happen to me when the first guy who's done the same thing as me goes up before the judge. He gives his side of the story, then the cop gives his side. No actual evidence (like video of what happened) is given, you've just got the word of one person versus another. That guy gets six months in jail. Naturally, this makes me a bit nervous.

Not too long after that, another guy gets up, charged with the same thing as myself and the other guy. He gives his side, the cop gives his version. Again, no objective evidence like video is provided. That guy gets a year in jail. I really start to sweat.

Third guy gets up. He's charged not only with ten counts identical to what I and the other two guys are charged with, but also nine counts of failing to appear in court. He apologizes to the judge, says that he's paid his fines and throws himself on the mercy of the court. The judge tells him that "there must be a reckoning" for his failure to recognize the authority of the law. The judge thinks for several minutes (literally) and then sentences the guy to 10 days in jail. The differences between the folks? Just two. None of the others said anything about paying their fines (which would have been a fraction of what the last guy had to pay) and that they were black.

At that moment, I stopped sweating. I knew that I could pay what my fines were and that if I had to spend any time in jail, it'd be less than 10 days. That meant I could easily work out a deal with my employer to use my vacation time for when I was in jail, so I wouldn't be out any money. Jail might suck, but I wouldn't be in there for a long period of time, and I wouldn't lose everything I owned while I was in there. As it turned out, when I went before the judge, my fines were a fraction of what I expected and I didn't have to spend any time in jail. My crime? Driving without insurance. And yes, I absolutely recognized the fact that the reason the reason why I didn't go to jail was tied to my skin color.

So I’m hanging out at the local watering hole where people are singing karaoke. The host said,”this next song is dedicated to veterans, we’ve lost so many to suicide” Guess what my first thought was @The Night Funky .

That you were disappointed you failed when you were down by the river? I didn't want to be a dick about it, but when I read your thread, the first thing that sprang to my mind was a failed suicide attempt on your part. I mean, what kind of person gets shitfaced and decides to go walking near water? There's basically two answers to that. The first is someone who's unfamiliar with the area and the second is someone who's planning on killing themselves. Speaking as someone who's not only lost several friends and relatives to suicide, but has also been close to it himself in ages past, you don't strike me as the type to get blitzed and just randomly wander around. That means you picked the water and weren't too terribly concerned if you lived or died.

Oh sure, it wouldn't look like an obvious suicide attempt, but that's what you were going for. If you managed to save yourself, well, that was okay since you hadn't done something like slashing your wrists, since it's this way
    [IMG]
if you want to do it with little hope of being rescued.

Was that a little "dark"? Well...

If you wanna keep going along these lines, I'm willing to "play." But I'll warn you now, I'll take you (and everyone else) down some very dark alleys that most people would rather avoid. I know how to ride that shit out without becoming suicidal, do you? My money says "No." And given that you're too chickenshit to bet on things like aliens being real, I'm going to say that you'll bow out on this as well.

Well looks like CBS may have been duped by ABC. Not on purpose but through incompetence.

The fired CBS worker says she has nothing to do with the leak and Project Veritas has said she's definitely not the leaker.

Are aliens real, yes. Have they visited earth, probably not, but I know conspiracy theories raise your blood pressure, so I push them. As for what happened with the creek, I honestly don’t know how it happened. The prevailing theory is that I tried to pee. Makes sense. I’ve been suicidal many times, but not that night. That I know for sure. Honest to god’s truth, I was shitfaced, tried to get an Uber, cancelled for some reason, got another Uber and cancelled again, then started walking. The creek was on the way home and yes I don’t know the area that well. Next thing I know, “woke up” in the creek. Got up out of the creek and got an Uber a third time and went the hospital which is a half a mile away. That’s what I pieced together.
Suicide attempt, not likely. Drunken antics, very likely. GFY.

That's assuming that the fired worker actually is the one who leaked the ABC material.

If not, CBS could face a wrongful termination suit. Hell, they might face one of those anyway even if the fired person was the ABC leaker.

ABC Insider: Why I, alone, released the Amy Robach Epstein tape.
    https://www.projectveritas.com/2019...i-alone-released-the-amy-robach-epstein-tape/

Editors Note: Project Veritas is publishing the writing below at the request of the ABC news insider who gave us the Amy Robach tape.

This was submitted to us in light of the actions taken against those wrongfully identified as involved in the leaking of the tape and the reactions of ABC news to their spiking of the story on Jeffrey Epstein.

    By Ignotus,

    To my fellow man:

I came forward with this information bearing no motives other than to have this information public. I did not and do not seek any personal gain from this information whether it be financial or otherwise and will always decline. When I became aware of this moment, I had the same reaction as many of you did. Anger, confusion and sadness. I care not about petty political quarrels and only hope for the best in all of us.

To my fellow ABC News employees:

I’ve walked the halls experiencing similar feelings we are all having right now. All of you regardless of your own personal differences in one form or another do an outstanding job. I sincerely enjoy working with each and every one of you and will continue to do so throughout our careers.

    To those wrongfully accused:

It is terrible that you have been lashed out at by the company. I know some may put the burden of guilt on me, but my conscience is clear. The actions of the company towards you are the result of their own and not anyone else. The public outcry, from coast to coast, of all people, creeds, and political affiliations, is clear. I have not one doubt that there will always be support for you, and you will have prosperous careers. For neither you, nor I, have done anything wrong.

    To Amy Robach:

You are the only person deserving of an apology. I am most certainly sorry. Not for my actions or for this to center around you, but for what is clear to have happened. When I first stumbled across this, my initial reaction was outrage. But this soon turned towards empathy. I can not imagine doing all the hard work to only have it shelved. If the past few years have taught us anything, it is the truth that some of us have endured many hardships in this industry. From the spiking of stories regarding prominent and powerful people in this world, and to yours. I believe you are an outstanding reporter and have done such tremendous work in the community as well.

    To ABC News:

I sit right here with you all in complete shock. I, like many, are at a loss for words on how this has been handled. Instead of addressing this head-on like the company has in the past, it has spun into a mission of seek-and-destroy. Innocent people that have absolutely nothing to do with this are being hunted down as if we are all a sport. I challenge all of you to actually look inwards and remember why this company engages in journalism. We all hold the First Amendment at the foundation of this company, yet forget its history, its purpose, and its reasoning for even coming into existence to begin with. How lost we are… yearning to be found. I went to Project Veritas for the sole reason that any other media outlet else would have probably shelved this as well. I thank all of them, and James, for seeking truth.

We are all human and mortal, creatures of mistakes and redemption.

The road to redemption favors no soul.

    Sincerely,

    Ignotus

Keep telling yourself that, and maybe you'll believe it. Let's look at the most recent tape, shall we? In Lanz's "They're Real" thread you logged in with post #9 with this hot little number.

What was your next post on the subject?

    Then we had
Next, we have my first comment in that thread coming in a post 18:
So we've got a grand total of 9 posts before I said dick on the subject. Yet you're going to claim that this was some kind of master troll on your part? Dipshit, I might have been born in the morning, but it wasn't this morning. You're way too much into the whole Joe Rogan bullshit for anyone to buy the claim that you were trolling.
Just keep telling yourself that. Maybe you'll believe it.

Except that's not how it works at all, and you know that. You didn't post about what happened to you after you'd sobered up and realized that you'd been a dumbfuck. Instead, this is one of the things that you posted
Not to mention this statement of yours:
That's a cry for help. Whatever part of your brain was still functioning was reaching out to others to give you something, anything to keep you from doing what it takes to keep you from killing yourself.

Bear in mind I'm not giving you shit for hitting a point in your life where you think that "punching out" is the best option. Anyone who is honest with themselves is willing to admit that they've had such moments. No, what I'm giving you shit for is denying it. Keep at it and one day you'll manage to kill yourself "by accident." Own up to it and you'll be able to dig yourself out of the mess that you're in.

side note here in Georgia if you drive without insurance you only have to pay a small fine even if you cause a wreck. No jail time is involved. My point being were the POC charged with the exact same crime as you were, driving without insurance? Just so there is an apples-to-apples comparison here.

I woke up on the street in Ukraine once.

Strangely the night had started in Poland, I have basically no intervening memories and was still in possession of my mobile phone, wallet and money.
