plenty of Canadian reviews of the FN FAL, but this is the first one I've come across from an American. Not sure about the variant he's using (I'm only familiar with the CF FNC1A1), but the basics all seem the same. Here's another one, most of the same info, but with the Canadian military model. Sadly, only the water tower and one office building remain of the Long Branch plant of Canada Arsenals.
I have a Century Arms FAL (currently dismantled) that I've never fired. It's a little rough, and it has some old AW ban features (thumbhole stock, no muzzle device). I wish I had a good modern built FAL, because these really were superb rifles. I think the U.S. missed an opportunity in 1957 by not selecting it, and essentially continuing with the 1930s Garand tech, albeit slightly improved.
