SARS II: Respiratory Boogaloo

speaking of nursing home death: my mother is getting burned out on group "assisted living" for the past two years or so and I'm going to move her 2,500 or so miles to my home in Georgia so she can live out her remaining years with family. Granted removing her from one of the most dangerous places somebody can be in during coronapocalypse would be kinda cool!

That said here comes the irony: because of the travel bans, shutdowns, quarantines, medical services delays/closures, government offices closures, out-of-state visitor restrictions that vary state-by-state and day-by-day, etc etc etc I have to wait for coronapocalypse to ebb (weeks? months?) before I can accomplish this mission of improving her health, welfare & safety .

So I told her to hang in there and when things get back to functional (normal may be a long way off) I will relocate to her to Georgia. I have to build wheelchair ramps, install a "walk in" handicapped shower/tub and a few more things - I can get all this ready once I get her specific requirements while I'm waiting for things to stabilize.

oh it's a cakewalk compared to everything Lanzman recently went through! That was D-Day level logistics and hard work! Again coronapocalypse restrictions are my only problem.
Actually relocating her will be "okay mom, throw all your stuff in this rucksack and let's move out smartly!" She hates to fly so I'll fly out, rent a car and drive us back. She can't drive, so it's about a four day drive for yours truly assuming good weather, but it's almost all freeway driving.

Like I have always said about government tracking of the populace. You do not need to install chips in people. They will carry the device and do it for you.

 

My thought is that number is low because there are a number of undiscovered deaths in more rural areas we will be locating by that point. If I am wrong, that is a good thing. 137,000 is pretty good for a virus this contagious. It is not even close to the millions dead some people were claiming. Unfortunately the chicken littling will only make trump look good as he claims credit for what the american people did despite his trying to hinder social protections like masks and better sanitation.

I am actually surprised that the state's have not made these threats. You are violating health codes. Food, Salons, and other businesses require a license to operate. The health department can come in and shut you down in a moment. This is not something up to Trump at all. You operate your business in a way that spreads disease as food serving place or bar and they can shut your entire business down and pull your license to operate. On top of that anyone can report a business operating in violation of health codes.

Why are we even having reporters video tape these people? The first place these reporters shoyuld be going is to the health department and reporting these businesses rather than allowing more time for them to be open. If I am a business owner desperate for income and see opening up will get me customers I might be tempted to do it. Especially if I invite some stupid reporter over to do free advertising for me. If I see that business get their license to operate pulled and massive fines and criminal charges put on them, then I am obeying the law because I do not want my license to be gone, and my entire investment in jeopardy because I can no longer legally operate when things get lifted. Get the pictures of the open businesses and then report them to the state.

Fuck the MAGAt cunts and get their businesses destroyed. Take their lives from them and let a responsible decent business open. Take their red meat houses from them with fines. Put their families in the gutter. Get their toys repossessed, and drive them to suck on a shotgun. I know I am watching around here.

Yeah, right? There hasn't been a federal lock down. Hell, some states started opening up a week ago. I sat down in a fancy schmancy sit down restaurant in Murfreesboro, TN last Friday. It was surreal as hell. They checked our temperatures before we went in and all the staff was wearing masks that matched their uniforms. They had the logo and everything.

 

You mean the invisible hand of the market causing prices to lower because shrinking demand is now bad? This seems like rich people whining. If demand drops then people will lose jobs. If you gave money to the people instead of the business owners, you would create demand. So the stimulus should be in the forms of assistance to everyone because loans to businesses will not create demand. You cannot buy shit if the people do not have money to buy shit. So whining for the government to give money directly to the rich is stupid. No more giving money to businesses to stay afloat when the businesses are allowed to open. New stimulus packages to the poor and middle class should be the only form of stimulus to keep the economy up at this point.

This fucking whining by the rich for more bailouts and pretending their propped up business model is working is a load of crap. According capitalism if you cannot survive and there is demand for a product then someone else will eat your bloated lunch. If there is no demand for your product then get your bootstraps and stop wating everyone's resources on your fail idea. If you like capitalism so much then go suck rocks if your business fails. You were worthless anyway and no one cares if you and your family die.

Now, if you find that cruel perhaps you should look into other things beside capitalism because money does not care about you and your weak family. Social darwinism means go die quietly in the gutter while the better people eat your lunch.

When Georgia opened up a week or two earlier than recommended it was made very clear: if you don't follow the coronapalooza safety protocols your business license will be revoked.
Thus there was no pandemonium in Georgia like that Colorado restaurant video showed. Many businesses of varying types that could be opened chose not to do so, or opened in a very limited fashion.

 

In a few months when trump is doing his speeches about how he reduced the death tolls from millions in the states I will be glad to remember you and assclown and bring it up.

 

My grandmother got a call from the shady arcade that they are opening up this week. This is a place you can barely get a walker through the aisles before this all hit. It is also a place that has suffered a few violations by letting in kids and other shady practices. I will take a little round in there, take some pictures of the elderly who do not wear masks, then I will report the place. They had to make calls to get the old people into a poorly ventilated place that has not cleaned the drool off the buttons in ever, so they can sit there and do something very non-essential. I happen to know some of the other ones are not opening because they simply do not have any way to maintain distance or keep the old people from dying because of them.

I can't believe any business would not be compliant with the rules (local, state and federal) KNOWING that nearly everyone can record videos and take pics these days. I get that a business wants to open. But if you get your business license pulled/have to pay a fine/get sued/arrested etc etc you will be in WORSE SHAPE than if you had just stayed closed to begin with!
Bottom line when you open back up use common sense (becoming less commonplace by the hour it seems) and take it slow & steady.

 

Well, this is a totally unexpected turn of events.

 

Sort of. They were explicitly stated to be what would happen without lockdown. And they were confirmed by a lot of others. (Which, BTW, shows that lockdown has saved about a million lives in the USA alone, so far. In the EU, the estimate is several million lives saved.)

Fortunately, even though Trump was so obtuse, a number of governors (such as in NY, MI, OH and CA, but quite a few other places as well) were smarter. The USA didn't manage to reduce the number of deaths and infections as much as countries like Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy, but did slow them down and get off that exponential curve.

But there are people who just can't understand a conditional statement. "If not A then B" is beyond their simple-minded logic. They think that by being stupid they have the right to make fun of others, and don't realize that they are simply displaying their stupidity. "If not A then B" isn't actually all that hard of a concept...
