    In this NYTimes article from 17jul20 he comes across as being a patsy, but he allowed himself to be used. As he lent credence to Bush II's babbling he's culpable.

    Still, like WABvUCH states, it was the DNC's calculation that he would win votes. I'm willing for him to be used that way at this stage.

    No, I didn't miss the point.

    I just made another point. Sometimes, there is more than one thing to say about something.

    Racism is so deeply ingrained in so much American "Christianity" that I maintain that an awful lot of Americans would not be at all comfortable with Jesus if he showed up, looking exactly as he did 2000 years ago (but with modern clothes). And that bothers me enough that it seemed worth bringing up.

    That is one of the many major differences between Europe and America. Over here, we have blacks and whites and Arabs and Chinese and so on all mixed together in our churches, and no one cares. But that is pretty rare in American churches, of any denomination.

    I had fun with that one last year. A sermon I titled "A Crisis of Christology" (Revelation 1:1-6) where I dealt with exactly what you're talking about. I centered on verse 5, "the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth."

    I'm concerned about Jesus' apparent embrace of monarchical rule. Must He be the King of Kings? Couldn't He be the President of Presidents or some such thing?

    And what's the power-sharing arrangement between God and Jesus? Is it kind of like a Holy Roman Empire type situation? Or is it more like the arrangement Vader offered Luke in The Empire Strikes Back?

    It’s good Obama hit Trump on his profound laziness. As expected, most Presidents have an incredibly busy schedule. This guy, instead, is watching Fox News until 11am and rushing off to call Sean Hannity once it’s Happy Hour.     And? It’s either her or Pence for VP. If I have to choose between being executed at sunrise or being executed immediately, I’m opting for sunrise because I might find a way to delay it longer or escape. If I opt for immediately then it’s all over. Harris is an execution at sunrise, Pence is an immediate execution.
