I'm not sure about the auto shop shoot but the shots after are pretty clear cut self defense. It looks like he ran, fell and was attacked.

Was going to post a link to a video of it on twitter but it's not showing up in the preview. I left it in text in case it shows up in the actual post. Edit: It did so I spoilered it.

First shot is to a guy doing a flying kick to him while he's on the ground, I believe he missed. Second shot is to a guy attacking him with a skateboard. Third shot, the guy who got hit in the arm feigned a surrender then pulled a gun.

The guy doubled over is the one who attacked him with the skateboard. Notice no gun in the standing guy's hand.

Notice that the gun is still in his hand after being shot. He can't release it because he took a 5.56 just above or at the joint. His hand no longer functions. this guy was going to execute the boy (He's 17) had he not fired first.

If you're going off what Andy Ngo posted, then you're an idiot. Ngo is a rightwing version of dinner.

No. Moron. He shot the first person in the head. Protesters tried to stop him from escaping and detain him for police. While running from them, he fell. That guy didn’t kick him in the head, he was jumping over him so he didn’t trip over him at a full run. Then the kid sat up, fired off several more shots, killed the second victim, and injured a third. Now, the NG is heading up the street, so the crowd backs off. Kid puts up his arm and starts walking to the NG. He’s yelling it’s me, crowd is yelling it’s him, NG drives past, tells the kid to get off the street, kid stops to chat with an NG in a parked hummer. Then walks off and eventually makes it back across the state line and goes home.

Not to mention that the kid was 17, so he shouldn't have been carrying the weapon to begin with.

I heard his mother dropped him off.
what kind of mother puts their child in that kind of situation? His whole life is gone. Even if he manages to escape justice and not spend the rest of his life in prison, his name is the same as Monica Lewinsky and Brock Turner. He wil forever be known as the kid who murdered two people in Kenosha.

In Wisconsin, I’m told, he must be 18 to carry. He, apparently would have been legal in Illinois.

I don't fucking care. Nobody that young should be allowed to carry such a weapon. Period. Paragraph. Guns aren't toys, and letting anyone under the age of 18 (at the very least) run around with one unsupervised is just asking for trouble.

I agree. There has also been a curfew every night this week. Protesters are engaging in civi disobedience. He was not protesting. He was breaking curfew, carrying a weapon illegally, and ... murdering two people. Everything about his presence there was wrong. All over the place.

First, there isn't any good video I've seen of the first shooting, may have been murder. Was the guy that got shot the one who was chasing and throwing shit at him? Second, do you honestly think that kid wouldn't have been killed by that mob if he had just stood around and surrendered to them? Nah, dude ran towards flashing lights, and it looked like he was trying to surrender. Cops let him go. Third, you say it as if he sat up and shot at people a good distance away from him. No, he was being attacked by armed people.

And once again, here's a photo of the third guy pulling a gun on him.

here's the video from the guy who shot it, and where Andy Ngo got it.

Video shows he was clearly going towards the authorities, they were about block away.

I’m having trouble figuring out the timeline here - did this guy shoot someone, run away, get attacked and then shoot 2 more people? So many differing accounts of what happened, which isn’t all that surprising i guess

Yes. Apparently he shot someone in the head and killed them, but we don't know what lead up to that, so it may have been in self defense...who knows at this point. He then started running away, and some protesters gave chase. He tripped and fell, and then shot two more people, killing one and injuring another...again...may or may not have been self defense. The fact that the cops didn't do anything to stop him as he left the scene isn't as nuts as you might think when it came to light that he was there with their tacit approval.

I know next to nothing about this current situation. I know two are dead, one is injured, and this kid is in custody. That’s literally it.

That said, I can’t think of a good reason for anyone, of any age, to be walking around with an AR15 strapped to their chest.

As a gun owner, I have mixed feelings about carrying long guns during any sort of public demonstration. It’s clearly an escalation. It should probably be legal, but it is incredibly, mind-bogglingly stupid. It’s dangerous. And, again, it’s a clear escalation.

I’m left flabbergasted by these idiots that protested, armed, outside State Capitols while armed with long guns and various bits of tactical gear.

But, there is absolutely zero, no justification for one being carried by a 17 year old kid.

According to them, they were't protesting. They were there to help the police protect property from rioters...and the cops were more than happy for the help...probably not so happy in hindsight.

Funny aside...and I may have mentioned this before...but I recently found out that in North Carolina, there is a law against protesting while armed. You got a First Amendment, and a Second Amendment, but not at the same time. It's one or the other. NC has some weird gun laws.

If it wasn't in this dumpster fire we are calling 2020, I'd know, in my heart of hearts, that you're making that up.. That can't be true. There's a reason there's a process in place for temporarily granting limited police powers, commonly known as "deputizing", to adult civilians. Oy vey...

Alabama used to have a similar law. But, they made several revisions to the gun laws after I got out of it. I don't know if that's still in there or not.

For anyone who reads this, please understand that I'm not talking about what is, or is not, legal. I'm not even talking about what should or should not be legal. I'm talking basic right and wrong.

Allowing a 17 year old to walk the streets with an AR15 slung on his chest is wrong. It's just wrong.

I just finished binge re-watching the series followed by the movie, and it occurred to me that Mal should have fought Atherton Wing with a screw driver. Mal would have taken him in 5 to 10 seconds.

The police received a letter basically threatening violence if the police didn’t “welcome” the group’s “assistance”.

Not all Kenosha police were comfortable with this.

Sadly, I didn’t take a screenshot of the letter, nor saved the post. I didn’t see the original. I know many people in the area who grew up here, who know the police personally and socially. I recall, at the time I read it, wondering who posted it and scrolling back up, and reassuring myself the person who posted it was someone I knew and trusted.

However, there was so much yesterday as everyone here was in shock. I still am. So, no, I can’t provide a source.

Peaceful night last night. Amazing how little violence happens when you keep the "militia" away.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/08/27/kenosha-protest-militias-blake-shooting/

Also, some group called "Riot Kitchen" were stopped at a gas station filling up gas cans and claimed they were there to feed protesters and the homeless.

    1) Who eats in the middle of the night?
    2) Who drinks gasoline with their meal
    3) If the protesters were hungry, they can just go home.

    DO NOT BELIEVE RIOT KITCHEN

During the Arab Spring 24/7 occupation of places like city squares was a key tactic in getting governments to change. As for why Riot Kitchen would need cans of gas, food trucks have generators that need gas.

No. There weren't any food trucks. There weren't any meals in the bus. Just a bunch of gas cans and a bunch of people from out of state.
