Do you get that, even if he isn't behind bars the rest of his life, that he will never have a normal life? This area, between Lake County and Kenosha county is chock full of small towns. Even if he gets an education, no corporation around here is going to hire him. If he gets married, how will he help support his partner and any potential children? Do you not get that? You are being way too pessimistic, or maybe not pessimistic enough. Rittenhouse already has a ton of support, given that he's on video killing two people. It is entirely possible that he will be acquitted of any crimes, and even if convicted, that he will not have to serve anywhere near the time a double-murderer would because of his age and political pressure. Nothing says he is going to have to stay in Antioch. I'm guessing it's more than likely he will move to some red state and be treated like a hero. Right wingers are already rallying around him, and win or lose in the criminal trial, they will squeeze the juice out of him until he's all used up. Parade him around as a proud symbol of our 2nd Amendment rights, our need for law & order, the unfairness of the criminal justice system or however they want to frame it. His celebrity will come with Go Fund Mes, book sales, movie deals, or whatever else. Some ghouls will pay crazy money for the AR-15 he used (although I understand he borrowed it) or other guns he owned. He has an automatic pipeline to some job with a right-wing lobbying firm or non-profit. He will earn ridiculous speaking fees even though -- no offense --chances are he has little to say. I think he has a lot more upside than a double-killer probably deserrves.
