The New York Times podcast "The Daily" had an episode last week that followed a Latino group on Pheonix that does voter registration and get out the vote events in Latino communities. They've registered something like 300,000 voters in the last four years.

The founder and leader of the group said that the problem he runs into, even in his own circle of friends, is that for many in the Latino culture, Donald Trump is the embodiment of "tell it like it is" and "don't take crap from anyone" version of masculinity. We may not like it, but it is what it is. I think this is a similar reason he's so popular in the southeastern United States.

And it's happening...right now Trump is speaking, claiming victory, and saying they will be going to the Supreme Court to make "voting stop" because they don't want any more "ballots found".

He's asserting "We were winning everything, and all of a sudden it was called off." Is he truly unable to comprehend how elections work, or is he just lying and counting on his supporters being stupid?

CNN spent 20 minutes, 20 MINUTES prefacing his comments saying that he's going to lie. That he's going to lie. Do people not understand how absurd that is? How the media has to tell the people of the world that we need to be careful because POTUS is going to come out and tell outright, abject lies.

Hearing the President of the United States declaring victory and saying that he wants the counting to stop is blatantly, openly authoritarian and undemocratic. No one, no one can defend that and retain any shred of respect and basic decency.
