Okay. For one thing, a more inclusive curriculum these days does discuss ramifications (where possible within the confines of a 45-minute class and departmental strictures; surely you know this from your sons' schools). The outcome in some instances has been a lot of caterwauling from the Endangered White People about "Gee, do we have to include everybody???" These are the same people who gear up for the War on Christmas every year. For another, a good teacher will say "BTW, if you want to know more than we have time for in this lesson, here are some sources you can go to." (Much easier these days with the Internet than it was when you and I had to schlep to the library and hope no one had stolen the book.)
Paladin already believes--and has for some time--that Trump lost and that there was not a significant amount of fraud in the election.
What about the fact that Trump has gleefully taken around $170 million in donations from people that he's falsely made believe that there is widespread voter fraud? Anyone care to defend that?
LOL! Just like Pizzagate was a good thing as once all the facts came out it put an end to the whole Dems-Running-Pedophile-Sex-Ring conspiracy theory right?
Just like how debunking flat earth theories has worked wonders for people's critical thinking skills?
Didn't make that claim either. But, actually, it's good that there's a public debate about flat Earthism because it shines light on it.
No, it just entrenches views which were never evidence based in the first place. That's the thing about faith, it's usually immune to counter arguments.
It’s the same faulty logic. We know for a fact that spreading conspiracy theories, even to debunk, only promotes them. So how does Trump telling his followers that American Democracy is a failure and that their votes don’t count good for America as you have claimed?
You're right: we should let bad ideas go unchallenged. Believe it or not, there are people who have been persuaded by the "arguments" and "evidence" that flat Earthers proffer. Those people are persuadable. Physicist Sabine Hossenfelder did a good video on it a while back...
Except this "investigation" is being undertaken with people who have all the power needed to uncover the truth and there's a deadline for results to be shown. It will come to nothing. I didn't claim that was good. Trump is simply wrong.
Okay, put a number to ‘come to nothing’. ‘In six months the number of Trump voters who think the election was stolen through massive fraud will be below ___%. Please fill in the blank. You claimed his behavior would ultimately strengthen the country. Are you saying that strengthening the country is not a good thing?
I think this is Barr saying "this is where I get off." There's really nothing Trump can do to him anyway.
But he's not just "simply" wrong. He's insisting he's right despite all evidence to the contrary. He's refusing to admit he's wrong because of his excessive pride and narcissism. That's not simple.
I’m saying the Republican President of the United States should not be promoting a conspiracy theory that the election was fraudulently stolen. I’m saying the majority of the Republican Party should not aid and abet him.
Honestly, if I were Barr I would've just held on til the bitter end and ensured myself a place in the Trump's next cabinet. Maybe he's angling for a private sector job where the truth is at least somewhat important.
I'm saying if you claim massive fraud and can't prove it (or even offer convincing evidence) that people will eventually see that it's not there.
Oh, I see. So much for Trump being different than the DC Establishment, from other politicians, etc. Or maybe he is different in that he's much, much worse.
How many people? Can you put a number on it? ‘In six months the number of Trump voters who think the election was stolen through massive fraud will be below ___%. If the number of Trump voters who remain convinced that American Democracy no longer works is above your number will you stop arguing that Trump and the Republican Party promoting the conspiracy theory that the election was fraudulently stolen is a good thing?
Kind of like the conspiracy theories that were shot down, when it turned out that Planned Parenthood was not actually harvesting baby organs (and yet folks still shot up Planned Parenthoods based on the disproven conspiracy theory) or how the Democrats weren't running an underground pedophile ring out of a pizza place (but someone still shot up the pizza place based on this disproven conspiracy theory)? Once a conspiracy theory is out there, some people will continue to believe it, even if all evidence points to the theory being wrong. That's the nature of a conspiracy theory. And that is exactly what Trump is promoting. He doesn't need it to be supported by evidence in order to get people to believe it. His followers will believe it, even with a mountain of evidence to contrary. And, more concerning, his followers will act on it, which as we've seen leads to violence, injury, and death.
