You bring up a good point that I hadn't really thought of before. You're supposing that Trump's plan of having senators co-sign with house members was a legitimate strategy, right? Because I was under the impression that they couldn't do that. You're saying Raskin could have accomplished his goal had he had a senator co-sign with him? Trump did have senators that were willing to co-sign with house members. Republicans have been asking why Nancy Pelosi did take Trump's offer to provide the national guard that day. Now we know Pelosi had her daughter and CNN with her at the Capitol that day so she probably wasn't in fear for her life. She knew she could hide away while the protesters breached the capitol. What prevented those senators from co-signing with the house members? Why the riot of course. Could it be that she knew that if she refused the national guard then it would be easy for the protesters would easily breach the capitol because (A) The FBI had assets in the crowd and (B) capitol police would escort some of them in anyway? So basically all she had to do is let it happen and that would be enough to prevent those senators from joining the house members. I'm not saying this is what happened, but there sure are some unanswered questions that Pelosi should be asked.

No, I am saying that Trump's tactics were multifaceted and designed to create confusion about the legitimately chosen electors so that he would retain power illegally.Nothing about that was "legitimate."

He and his cabal, knowing full well that he had lost, launched a plan to make it seem that they had won by a) creating slates of fake electors to be presented as a n alternate to the actual electors which would, depending on the scenario have Pence declare that the fake electors were teh actual electors, or have Pence declare "Gosh, there's so much confusion about these electors we better have the legislatures in these states weigh in with the hopes that the Republican legislatures of those states would say "Actually the electors favoring Trump are the correct ones and b) pressuring state election officials to pretend that there was concern about massive electoral misconduct enough to call the question of the tallies in those states, even though there was no meaningful such fraud c) whipping up MAGA supporters into thinking that the process was illegitimate with the hope that they would either take the law into their own hands or cow Pence or other politicians to backing his various schemes.

Those efforts have no meaningful comparison to what Raskin and others did. Basically there's was a nitpicking thing that even if the objections were noted officially would not have resulted in the Florida votes going for Clinton or Clinton winning the election. I am saying that Raskin's goal was to be a gadfly, not to actually unravel the election results in Florida.

shootER already pointed out that it is a lie that Trump offered to have the National Guard help quell J6, but here is another fact check.
    https://thedispatch.com/article/fac...quest-for-national-guard-troops-on-january-6/

The crazy mix of conspiracy theories about J6 that you are spouting needs no additional effort to address.

Here’s what it comes down to them. You want me to take these charges seriously when our whole entire government is corrupt? Nope. The more you bring charges, the less I care.

Billy it is three o’clock in the god damn morning your time and judging by your posts today you have been drunk since noon!

You need to go pound some water, eat some bread, take some Tylenol and get your ass in bed.

    STOP. DRINKING.

Even if we were to accept the premise that the government is entirely corrupt for argument's sake, there's corruption and there's CORRUPTION.

Getting back to the question that was posed earlier, if Joe Biden engaged in public policy with Ukraine to benefit his son, that would be problematic. It might even be illegal. But ultimately, it pale to what is alleged here, and what has been largely documented in recordings, memos and sworn testimony from the people involved; a plot to subvert the will of the people of the U.S. to retain power by multiple means, including the fake-electors scheme, including attempting to bully other officials into breaking the law, including whipping a crowd into a frenzy.

We've seen you get worked up about Hunter's laptop because of the alleged corruption of the Bidens, even though years later there still is no proof that Hunter ever talked to Joe Biden about his business, and there are no allegations that Joe Biden as VP did or arranged anything to benefit Hunter, other than the easily dismissed allegation that Joe pushed to get rid of a Ukranian prosecutor (the same way most Western countries did and for the same reason: because the prosecutor was himself either corrupt or incompetent and not going after corruption. So the narratie doubly doesn't make sense, since a corrupt Burisma would be happy to have kept that guy around).

For you to be blase about Trump's schemes to retain power in the face of the various and obvious Constitutional problems it presents speaks volumes.

FYI: Mixing Tylenol and booze is a very good way to kill one's liver. Mixing aspirin and alcohol is a very good way to kill one's stomach and/or intestines. Not a pretty way to die.

Tylenol adversely effects the brain. Ibuprofen adversely effects the stomach.

Nope. With alcohol, the concern with Tylenol is liver, aspirin is GI, ibuprofen is liver and kidneys (which is distinct from a regular ibuprofen overdose, which is all sorts of organ systems, which is distinct from long term ibuprofen use, which is mostly kidneys), but it’s the safest of the 3 with alcohol. None of them operate on the brain.

Erm, I'd always thought that @Paladin not being around any more was something to do with the bad blood engendered by this argument about Trumpism.

But no, just checked and he left quite amicably because he had a new job or some such and popped in about 6 months ago. How did I miss that?

There are a few petty assbags here who like to misrepresent events like that, because they have absolutely no other source of validation but the sad little fantasy that they have "defeated" someone on the internet.
