It is a big lie. The grooming of children to hasve certain gender specific behavior traits is cvisgendered people. Gender coded colors, and other traits are pushed with abusive punishment by cisgendered and bigoted parents. In the case of trans children they chose the path that they are happiest in. Forcing them to comply with toxic gender stereotypes is what @Federal Farmer advocates for. That is grooming. Children are not born like barbies or action figures. They are groomed to know that specific toys are male and female. That is, and has always been, cis society.

The trans kids are the ones who go against the grooming of society.

If he really cared about kids being themselves he would advocate for kids to be the gender they chose and not the one their parents force on them. Even in the caser where someone supports a child who makes a mistake on their gender, they are still supporting the child's choice of and not their own. That is the opposite of grooming.

A friend of mine has a teenager that's a furry, so I asked her about it. Apparently for a lot of them it's not a sexual thing at all, it's more like LARPing or creating an original character they can make art of. It'd be like if I started trying to draw or paint my TOS Andorian captain from Star Trek Online, or going to conventions cosplaying as them. Is the fiction some kid writes about their "fursona" any worse than me having some headcanon that explains why Fleet Admiral Zalih sticks with a 23rd century Constitution class ship despite living in the 25th, and why their entire away team is made up of suspiciously similar looking Andorians in Starfleet uniforms from different eras?

There are a variety of them, and some are that way. Decades ago I was there in furry worlds. First off, there was a ton of Yiff. Large numbers of furries were there for the yiff, and that is a sexual kink. A lot of the furry art is yiff oriented spank material. There is some out there with me in it from way before places like deviant art. Some furries ended up getting bothered with all the yiff and went towards the fursona thing. They wanted to find a way to explain it to others and it was decided the best way to explain it to the normies was to leave out the animal spirit inside and pretend it was just some game. The whole animal spirit thing tended to get mocked, and people understood roleplaying much better. However, the fursona is what is supposed to be inside, aka your real self, for many furries.

It might be things have changed since the millenials took over. I tend to avoid the new furries online habitats and cons. So maybe things have changed, but it was certainly not LARPing. It was a lot more like trans when I was around. There is a lot to read through, but places like ALF, AFF, and AHWW from usenet would show you a lot of the progression of furries. AHWW would be more of the serious non-yiff. A lot of the rest comes from places like IRC and some message boards where we would chat and the fanart was passed around. A lot of those are long gone. From what I understand some of it has moved onto some MMORPGs that are not really RPGs as much as someplace you can be your fursona in a digital world.

I'm saying that sexual kinks should not be on display in a school setting. Kids shouldn't be walking around in fur suits anymore than they should be walking around in a gimp suit or their birthday suits (if they're exhibitionists). If they have those kinks that's fine, but not appropriate to exhibit them in school.
