Nope. Was instructed to get a report from the cops. Who told her no problem, she would just need to wait.

Which was THEM giving HER bad info, because:

Now sure, getting angry at this point is not a good move, because cops are vicious animals who will kill you at the slightest hint of a challenge to their authority. But you can see WHY a 61-year old who'd been given the runaround for something she urgently needs might GET angry.

    Don't tell me you can't, Shakes-Fist-At-World.

I quoted something about the insurance company. Doesn't change the fact that she lost her stuff and now it's everybody else's problem. And I have no trouble believing whatever poor bastard mans that front desk gets inaccurate or contradictory instructions about what services he can offer. I've been in similar situations myself.

She was attempting to correct her mistake, was given bad information, became understandably upset that she was given bad information in connection with something that is necessary to help her not die, and was arrested for it. There was no need for the police to escalate this like they did.

it truly is mindbending how you can distill

into being a claim she was arrested for being upset.

He can't help but lie and distort truth. It was my mistake for even responding to UA as if he was actually contributing to the discussion in good faith.

It says right there. Became understandably upset and was arrested for it. That is a dishonest editorial distortion.

UA, you're a hothead loudmouth who thinks everyone's out to get him, you should be a cop.

why dishonest (other than your need to poison every conversational well you partake in?)?

I'm sure it's safe money to wager that when faced with a life threatening situation due to others' incompetence you'd be the picture of calm and collected?

Because the author typed that sentence knowing full well she was not arrested for being upset, but for breaking very specific rules.

The question is, would I decide my utter failure to manage my own affairs was someone else's problem because I let it go long enough to become a dire emergency?

No, if you're curious. The answer is 'no.'

I would never have lost my diabeetus gear in the first place, and if I did I would have spares. And if I'm crying poverty on all of that, I still can't expect anyone else to patiently endure a tantrum.

first off, bullshit. you've never lost anything in your life and always have a back up?

my days of not taking you seriously ain't ever gonna end.

there's no evidence she left it go so long as to become a problem, but rather was stymied by procedure and the proverbial left hand not knowing about the right. So try again... when you have fulfilled your obligations and someone else fucks up, etc.

Now, which specific rules did she break?

When I let myself down like that, I live with the consequences without bothering someone else.

This woman was incompetent and you know it. The insurance company says she needs papers from the po-lice, and the first thing she does, doing no research and not making so much as a phone call anywhere else, is to march down to the nearest precinct and dump her medical problems on a desk clerk.

It's right there in two articles and a video, you lazy fuckstick. Hell, I even commented on it.

what is right in the article is:

so she'd already been there once, told to come back, and then told she had to be someplace else... which sounds nothing like the way you've imagined.

the rest of it is your usual victim blaming... imagine that

What the fuck kind of additional "research" did you want her to do after her insurance company told her what her insurance company would require?

I don't know, maybe get online or on the phone and find the office within the PD bureaucracy that can definitely help her with this paperwork before she leaves the house? It's what I'd do.

Next, it will be "What if she doesn't have a phone, or internet access? What if she doesn't have a car? What if she doesn't have feet?" :dayton:

so she followed the instructions from the people responsible for giving her instructions, those were wrong, and it's her fault.

This seems relevant. Somehow, a 1970s portrayal of the police as a negative has gotten erased in recent years.

No, "following instructions" does not mean showing up unprepared and dumping her self-inflicted problems on others. As I said, you get online and/or call around first.

Reality is the place that doesn't give two shits about your excuses. Acquaint yourself with that fact before you get sanctimonious with me.

italicizing "me"... nope, no narcissistic disorders with you...

and again I'll refer you to the fact that she took every available preparation despite your refusal to acknowledge this.
