I mean, it could not happen to a more deserving guy, but still the attorneys for the families were/are presumably under an obligation to reveal to the court and opposing counsel that opposing counsel had made that mistake rather than ambush him on the stand.

His attorney is literally throwing him under the bus. Maybe he'll want a mistrial, but he took no action to stop any attempt to use the data or even notify his own client.

Could be he just thinks making up lies about murdered kids is too low even for the American 'ethics' system.

If the parents' attorney is telling the truth that he notified Jones's attorney immediately and that Jones' attorney did not attempt a clawback of that info AND didn't tell Jones that this had happened, let's just say I wouldn't want to be Jones' attorney on multiple fronts.
