There was a shooting at UVA, in case you didn't know. Also the Mayor of Portland was gassed. I'm so glad that these kids were shot because that's the price of freedom. Not only am I glad, I'm overjoyed! This most certainly what the second amendment was meant for when Madison wrote, "the right to bear arms should be included because children should be shot up in schools in order to preserve our freedoms and ward off tyranny." Federalist # 250.
Here is a little help in understanding yourself @Bill Carson . This guy is not joe rogan, but he does know some things. Holy fuck, should we call CPS on federal fetus' mom because she seems to have left the stupid pills out and he ate all of them.
Pro tip: It's not a strawman when people really say shit like that. Remember when Joe the Plumber said "your dead kids don't trump my constitutional rights" and half the country nodded their heads in agreement?
I'm glad it's a straw man, because that means you don't actually think that school shootings are a regrettable thing but still better than gun control?
Madison proposed two separate bills that would have made it illegal to take your gun off your own property. I have absolutely no doubt if you took any of the Founding Fathers into a school mass shooting with the bodies of dozens of murdered children pulped into unrecognizable goo by modern ballistics they would come out screaming 'Are you insane?' The right is despicably stupid.
School shootings are not a modern invention, they happened in Madison’s time as well. https://www.k12academics.com/school-shootings/history-school-shootings-united-states
Madison died in 1836. So in your list, there's 1 school shooting in his lifetime, when he was 13, and that wasn't a lone gunman shooting up a school, it was an Indian raid, a literal act of war. So, as is all to often the case, you are completely full of shit.
Will FF ever figure out he's never going to win with the dog turds from the right-wing echo chamber? It's like watching a guy running into a battle with a wet string of spaghetti as a sword, and ignoring the rack of actual swords next to the kettle of spaghetti going "no, dammit, the spaghetti is going to work! I'll use the whole kettle if I have to, but the spaghetti is going to work! ".
Probably about the same time YOU learn that saying "I detect a right wing talking point!" isn't a rebuttal.
Yes, because they never come pre-debunked already. They're all well constructed, and logically consistent, and demand serious brain sweat to pick apart Right-wingers have upper crust chess masters, that's why they won the midterms.
Winning elections does not automatically mean you have strong arguments. The Democrats still lost the House and barely held on to the senate. That should tell you something, but it won't.
Maybe, maybe not. But you ain't gotta be fucking Socrates to beat "fake news! Fake votes! Darkies bad! Homos bad!".
It does tell me a lot in fact. Some people put ideology and short term thinking above their wallets, the youth vote can no longer be ignored, twenty years of indoctrination had led us to this point, Republican leadership needs to go and in 2024, Democrats are going to have tougher time of defending their seats.
"Am I out of touch... No, it's the voters who are wrong." Didn't the Democrats do much better than the party holding the presidency traditionally does in the midterms, and even then it took aggressive Republican gerrymandering for them to achieve such disappointing results?
I mean, if you're talking Fox and Infowars, I agree. If you're talking generation Z having LGBT friends, and seeing they're not boogeymen, then you can eat a beach pail of hen shit.
A principled individual would recognize that money isn't everything, nor should it be. It always education when your side is doing it, and indoctrination when it's the other side.
King Arthur: Look, you stupid bastard, you've got no arms left! Black Knight: Yes I have. King Arthur: Look! Black Knight: Just a flesh wound. [Continues to kick and taunt Arthur] King Arthur: Stop that! Black Knight: Chicken! Chicken! King Arthur: Look, I'll have your leg. [Recieves a very sharp kick] Right! [Chops off one of the black knight's legs] Black Knight: Right! I'll do you for that! King Arthur: You'll what? Black Knight: Come here! King Arthur: What are you going to do, bleed on me?!
I think the Democrats failed in that they didn't bring over more people to vote for them after the insane displays Republicans have been putting on for the past couple of years, as well as Roe vs Wade going to the states to decide. This should have been a blue wave and the fact that it wasn't is a bit troubling But, to avoid the all but guaranteed red wave that the GOP kept on prattling on about and have the Senate is definitely a victory for them and a massive failure for republicans
With the exception of Bush’s post-9/11 midterm it is the best result since FDR in terms of Congress. At the state level it was the best since FDR. But who cares about the states am I right?
