I’ve always felt an affinity with Wednesday. Not really into spiders and such, but other than that … I do love her response to bullying.
Oh! Well! They finally draw blood! They've always hinted at inflicting violence in the old show, the movies, the cartoons, but they never actually injure anyone, it's always kept G rated. Nope, they're going for it now. Ain't it weird that it took 'til the 2020's for Addams Family to go at least PG-13 rated? There was an R rated Snow White in the 00's. There was a bloody Alice In Wonderland game in the 00's. Fuckin' ARCHIE has murder! ARCHIE lost its murder cherry before Addams Family. Reflect on that.
It looks like it might be fun, but it also looks like they are putting Wednesday in an environment that she enjoys by placing her in a darker school? Part of the joy of wednesday is how she tortures the normies for torturing her with their presence? Not that there couldn't be new jokes, but doesn't a happy wednesday equal more of a Sabrina vibe? I really do not want to be rooting for her classmates as she is killing them. I am just saying you need the normies to be victims, and also to get the audience sympathetic to wednesday by showing how they cause her discomfort.
@Bailey could you warn him about trolling for insults so hard in MC? I would have an easier time resisting a pile of coke in front of me.
If they can take this down the dark path of Sabrina without the need to attach it to the pesky human morality of the riverdale population this could be awesome. The only reason I stopped watching Sabrina was there was only so far you could go with the dark evil aspect before you started killing the human townspeople. Especially when you are awakening the dark lord and backstabbing him for your boyfriend. I do not want to see Wednesday saving the good people. Turning them to the darkness for her own evil empire is OK, but if they are not joining the forces of evil they need to die.
Duh. And Friday the 13th is a date that the Addams Family would consider to be lucky. I responded to Face's sarcasm with sarcasm.
you could push it to around halloween. That is like releasing your christmas movie on valentines day.
Just watched the first episode and this is looking pretty good. Not what I was expecting, but it looks really promising.
Getting a few episodes in, it is really good. The mood is nice, the musical score is divine. It is stylized and thought out. There is a definite vision behind it. I have to admit I am in love with the whole world here. this is just a decadent quality show that does what it does really well.
There is one glaring problem with this show. It is Morticia. You can sort of write off the rest of the family, but the relationship between mother and daughter is important in the writing and development. Jones is just terrible as Morticia. You cannot just dress someone up in a tight black dress and some black lipstick and it works.
Ironically, Burton fans got sick of him putting Helena Bonham Carter in everything, but she probably would have been a better Morticia. But, they broke up, and she's not in his stuff anymore. Be careful what you wish for.
