I read it differently. That he was highlighting FF’s lack of awareness because in terms of ‘run off’ it it is pretty one sided which political faction has run off more of the other.

And by run off I mean orchestrated and targeted harassment. Not just asking for sources or calling out BS. Not allowing idiocy to stand unchallenged isn’t running off.

Bob has been pretty big on the dire threat of "woke leftist mobs" and such for a while now, so I wouldn't put it past him to suggest that WF is also plagued by mean lefties that are somehow equivalent to the January 6th insurgents.

What has the board come to when you can't even call people the N word or post pictures of lynchings or be a literal Nazi or stalk members in the real world without being banned.

I sent a flirty admin some private pictures of myself a week ago and they haven't even been reposted on TK yet.

It's amazing how many of the "run off" examples just boil down to "They acted like cunts and people called them cunts."

My two cents: I've had Tererun on ignore for ages, and I almost never notice when she's posting in a thread I'm in. Whatever she's saying, most people seem to have no trouble skimming right past it, and not that many people seem to be engaging her. She might say outrageous and theoretically offensive things, but in practice no one is really listening. She's background noise.

Dayton, however, was extremely disruptive, and IMHO only escaped being permabanned long ago out of pity and his occasional entertainment value.

As Diacanu rightfully pointed out we've had tons more people chased off on the left than on the right and it isn't even close.

Putting that aside, message boards have been bleeding people left and right, regardless of topic. Troll Kingdom swings hard right and that place is damn near dead.

FF is a compulsive masochist with no shame, and UA is a narcissist with a fanatical grievance complex under his bonnet.

The only place I ever spent time at that was more lightly moderated than Wordforge was a fanfic bashing board that was largely left leaning but after a few years (and several board shut downs due to software issues), the only people it attracted were bullies who just wanted to bash. Eventually, even the specific goal of bashing fanfic was push to the wayside of "eating own own". I once saw a three page thread with people sitting on a guy whose father died and they bashed him for putting it in the wrong forum.

Who in their right mind would want to be around such a place?

And that was just a mild example. Most places with that lack of control usually got fascists taking over.

You know, kinda like Wordforge.

We all have our different tastes, and I would not characterize most of Dayton's posting that way.

Somewhere along the line, the admins decided they cared more about moralizing than about vibrant, entertaining conversation. This is why WF is dying.
