This should surprise nobody, but it looks like the CIA tried to cover up the fact that they tried to recruit through the Saudis two of the 9/11 hijackers. They knew these two were in the country before the attacks. https://www.spytalk.co/p/exclusive-fbi-agents-accuse-cia-of
Sure, but why did the feel they needed to cover this up and why wasn't this in the 9/11 Commission report? It's a rhetorical question.
I propose making tweedle dee dayton, and tweedle dum dayton so that @Bill Carson anmd @Uncle Albert can be twin daytons. Or maybe we could have Marvel Dayton and DC Dayton? Star Trek Dayton or Star Wars Dayton?
You're right, spy agencies famously never keep things secret or engage in cover ups. You just blew this thing wide open.
Sir, this is a taco bell, and we are talking about how we should identify out taco associates in honor of our long lost dog dayton.
You would think this would be a bipartisan issue, but look at the responses this thread got. Apparently I’m stupid and should be made fun of for wanting to hold the CIA accountable for this.
Unfortunately a lot of people have bought into the idea that the CIA (and other parts of the security state) ought to be completely unaccountable and will react negatively to that being challenged.
"The CIA was actively trying to flip AQ members" is one of those things that should be obvious to anyone giving it a moments thought, but also one of those things that no one should be publicly admitting to while those efforts are still ongoing. How is this a difficult concept to grasp?
you had me at stupid and should be made fun of. Seriously, the idea You are going to inform us of anything is a huge reach. You have beacis and butthead brain without the likeability.
It's like every damned thing else in the US. It depends on which political party holds office of the president. But, waaaayyyy back in the 70s, everyone was suspicious of the CIA.
I don't think that's changed. Quite the contrary, the responses feddy whines about are expressing a lack of surprise.
Then perhaps it's not the first sentence in the OP that is the reason everyone is calling you stupid.
I want them to be held accountable if they do things they shouldn't be doing. Trying to infiltrate al Qaeda falls under things they should be doing.
Not really. I didn't vote for Bush, and while the actual attempt to infiltrate happened during the Clinton administration, I assume most of the aftermath was under Dubya.
and then went on to say "but look at the responses this thread got." when in fact the responses were of complete lack of surprise. you can see the contradiction when we don't take an out of context soundbite but rather read the entirety of the sentence? This is one of several reasons your intellect is held in such low esteem and you should apologize.
your little outburst in post 11 eliminated that courtesy... although in point of fact, you weren't even being addressed until you interjected in post 17. I could dissect this all the way back to you fishing for someone to disagree somehow in post 3 which led to the aforementioned outburst, but I've used up my quota of attention for this topic.
Go to Green Room. Love how righties act like tough guys one second, and drench a whole box of tissues the next.
