Real talk, but who is supposed to be the anchor for this Legacy show? I won't lie, most of the people championing that petition I've run across subscribe to the same idiots FF gets his opinions from who I assume only wanted a show with a white man in charge, but Shaw bit the big one. A Seven-centric series will have Raffi getting lots of face time as the XO and since the one bit of unmitigated good this series did was smash the Barbie of Borg shit into the ground, I doubt they'd truly want THAT. Besides Geordi's kid, I don't know or care enough about the rest of the bridge crew to care what happens with them. What even is this show going to be about?
They can bring Shaw back. We never saw his head explode, and Seven brought Neelix back with nanoprobes. He even took a shot to the chest, he could come back from rehab with an artificial heart like Picard before him. But yeah, a show with two lesbians in charge and the roguish young white guy at the very bottom of the pyramid is going to give some of the biggest Legacy supporters some serious whiplash.
You make Seven the Picard who does the viewscreen-talky stuff, and Jack the Riker who beams down and does the punchy-punchy stuff, and there you go. Give the new characters fleshing out episodes until you figure out who your new Data, Worf, and Troi are. Bada-bing again. I could care less about what the CHUDs want. This franchise was created by Gene Roddenberry lying that it was gonna be Wagon Train, then Kirk kissed Uhura. Pfft, whatever, CHUDS. Y'know?
Raffi is the Riker. Jack is the Wesley/Tom Paris young wonderkid/criminal getting a second chance. LaForge is the Sulu because everyone has a crush on her, and we know absolutely nothing about who her parents are. Maybe bring back Elnor as the Worf. Get a hot latina to play Doctor Isabella Porksauce-Rios, the beautiful and passionate scion of two noble bloodlines.
Have you guys seen this? I can’t believe I’m the first to post it here! Ladies & gentlemen: Re-Generation!
Interesting. It’s not a deep fake but an actual actor who looks like Nimoy. https://twitter.com/entropicenigma/status/1651674636654899224?s=46&t=iYW3foyqIA6Tn8VWwn3nwQ If I was Nimoy’s kid, I’d want a DNA test of that dude to see if they’re related.
The way the show ended, I was under the assumption that we would be getting a new current Enterprise series with Seven as captain. That entire ending screamed spinoff.
jsut bring Sol Rodriguez back... This season was great for fan service, but the weakest (and I'd daresay, dumbest) story. They took absolutely no chances.
Yup. If Discovery is "woke Trek," PIC S3 was "Boomer/Fox News Trek." Remember when Picard and Beverly learned that the Federation brutally tortured and mutilated a bunch of captive changelings, and their only response is "we should probably execute this prisoner now, right?"
I enjoyed seeing her get double-tapped right before the view screen cut off. Imagine happily fitting the fleet with tech that allows one operator to commandeer them all simultaneously. Didn't anyone in Starfleet see nuBSG? Imagine having the entire fleet assemble at Earth for any reason whatsoever and leaving the Federation vulnerable. I understand they were under Changeling influence, but it seems Starfleet as an organization becomes less competent with each new series.
Just had a thought. When Data flew the Enterprise over Picard and crew, there should have been a sonic boom. The ship is roughly 2100 feet long, and sound travels about 1100 per second. After the crew is beamed up and the Enterprise flies out, it takes about a second to travel its own length. So there should have been as sonic boom.
Fun fact: Terry Matalas got his start licking boots for assisting Rick Berman during VOY and ENT's run and worked with Brannon Braga on his Terra Prime series. Given that origin story, it's a minor miracle that this season wasn't even more derivative and banal.
Given that origin story, I should have paid more attention to the random chef aboard the Titan that got forced into the role of pilot in the series finale. He was probably the first officer of the Enterprise J and this entire show was just his holodeck program, right?
