Believe whatever little lies make you feel better, I guess.

You live to hurt people. Every year you do this, usually around the holidays. Whatever is missing from your life, I cannot fill it for you.

Wow, that's definitely the response I'd expect from someone that's winning an argument with facts and knowledge. :dayton:

I read it! Nothing about an actual genocide but rather concerns about, and I quote, "a risk of genocide"

Who is trying to win an argument? This is Wordforge. The arguments are never won, just extended further and further out. There are always people claiming to have won, but it's just a brief pause while they argue over something else. It never ends.

So you're going to take the rule of law approach. You're free to do that, but it doesn't change that there is a genocide taking place right now.

You're holding onto a very tiny thread. Good luck with it.

Well there isn't, but you can keep on saying there is until you're blue in the face if it makes you happy

As someone who grew up in the Deep South I am well aware of the “It’s Heritage Not Hate” argument for the Slaver’s Flag.

In fact I was raised under that belief but thankfully I grew up and realized that while something may mean something TO ME it can mean something else TO OTHERS.

I then shifted to embracing slogans and symbols which I believe highlight the best parts of my Southern heritage not the worst.

Serious question @Amaris - you're obviously lending your entire support to Palestine, which is your right to do

What happens in the scenario where Palestine is free and gets land to live peacefully on however it's a society that is highly oppressive to women, LGBTQ people, disabled people, animals, doesn't particularly care about the environment? Like republicans on steroids. How do you reconcile your support with that?

The anti-semites can come up with whatever long-winded bullshit they want, but here's the key question:

What would be happening right now if Hamas hadn't slaughtered over 1,400 innocent people and kidnapped hundreds more on October 7?

I side with the people being oppressed, which in this case is the Palestinians. "Heritage not Hate" was something stated by the colonialists, the oppressors.
It's the difference between someone saying "Black Power" and saying "White Power."

There are a great many Palestinians who are pro-LGBTQ+. I'm a member of several orgs there who work to advance those causes.
So it's one step at a time. End the oppression of the Palestinians, that is the most immediate need. I mean, you don't work on painting your kitchen if the whole house is on fire. You put out the fire, and then set to work remodeling the kitchen.

That smiley does not reflect the post that was made above it, because it completely ignores everything before October 7th, and it puts the situation in a vacuum so that there is only one conclusion to be drawn, an erroneous conclusion that supports the genocide taking place against Palestinians. I mean, why else would you find a reason to justify the deaths of 17,000 Palestinians, including 7,000 children? Do you believe 1 Israeli life is worth more than 7 Palestinian children? The Israeli government does.

    Hypernationalism is a cancer.

Please, do tell us what happened before October 7th that justifies Hamas slaughtering over 1,400 innocent people and kidnapped hundreds more. Tell us what makes that okay.

Then give us the historical context that explains why Israel shouldn't have responded to the murder of 1400 people and kidnapping of hundreds more. Or tell us what you think Israel should have done in response instead of sending the military after Hamas. :chris:

There's been a ton of interesting analysis over the past month about how western leftists have completely lost their minds, since they are siding with cultures that would happily oppress them to a degree that would make MAGA Republicans salivate.

Who said it was justified? You did, because I didn't. Your question is deeply flawed, and your premise is accusatory. You're going to hate this, but I recommend you read the Norman Finkelstein book I mentioned earlier. I'll give you the title if you need it again: "The Holocaust Industry" by Norman Finkelstein. I will also recommend "Gaza: An Inquest into its Martyrdom."

Scholars have been commenting on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict for generations now. I figured you wouldn't be so bold as to openly say you've never known about any of it despite all of your posts up to this point decrying what I've been saying. Interesting move, I guess.

I'll give you a link, too, so you can read it without being paywalled:

Gaza: An Inquest Into Its Martyrdom: https://www.libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=5D7E64AB8F526A3AC2CFC106732FAF43
    The Holocaust Industry: https://www.libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=C0F55B22D8F193E1BDF99E10F15E5B7A

For those of you realizing this for the first time, yes, this conflict has been going on for a very long time, and the history goes very deep.
For those of you who are disappointed that I'm not going to entertain you with long paragraphs just so you can ignore them, welcome to Wordforge. Fresh towels are in the upstairs closet.

Now, all of that being said, I'm going to be busy the next few days because of the upcoming holiday. I realize some of you have nowhere to go and this is the only place where you can feel something, but try to do something other than bang away endlessly on arguments decades old, and expecting other people to continue until you feel like you've won. Okay?

Enjoy your holidays if you celebrate them, and see you all later. :)

Middle Eastern countries where LGBTQ+ folks have no rights and in most cases are considered criminals:

    - Egypt
    - Iran
    - Iraq
    - Kuwait
    - Lebanon
    - Oman
    - Qatar
    - Saudi Arabia
    - United Arab Emirates
    - Yemen

Middle Eastern countries where LGBTQ+ folks have rights and legal status:

    - Israel
    - Jordan (although does not recognize trans folks)

Hmmm. I wonder what would happen if Palestinians got their own state? Odds are really not looking good for the LGBTQ+ folks.

From the river to the sea, LGBTQ+ folks won't be free!

WAB suggested that the "genocide" you're so upset about wouldn't be happening if not for the October 7th attacks. You responded that his post "completely ignores everything before October 7th, and it puts the situation in a vacuum so that there is only one conclusion to be drawn, an erroneous conclusion that supports the genocide taking place against Palestinians."

You're the one bitching about context in response to the massacre of 1400 people and the kidnapping of hundreds more.
There's that smug little prick energy again. Your parents must be so proud. :dayton:

So once you end the oppression they just deal with another form of oppression, one that you helped enable this time

And as a foreigner who are you to impose your ideals on them, what gives you the right to "remodel their kitchen"?

Sounds like something a colonizer would say tbh
