If you are torturing them so that they abide by your strict vision of gender which is really just a construct of the mind, then yes you are a shitty parent and need to have your kids taken away from you. The same way if god tells them to cut their dicks for Yaweh. If it is hands off the kid's junk unless they say they want it, then no more automatic circumcision. That is mutilating a baby who cannot consent. If you care so much about this there are no doctors in the US who will surgically alter a tween child's genitals. I am fine with that, but since it is so important that we leave the choice up to the child, no more baby circumcisions. Until the religious give up their baby dick mutilation, they are full of shit in regards to making it the child's choice.

I would make my kids wait until they were 18 for drastic, life-altering changes, because it is the job of parents to protect them from their own shortsightedness.

It's not a costume. None of this is performative in the sense of "wouldn't it be fun if?"

I know popular media, at least from the 80s and 90s, has made it seem like it would be a lark to dress up in what are traditionally considered women's clothes and parade around using a high pitched voice and having a go at the current culture, and some people do that, and it's perfectly okay, but for a lot of trans women like myself, this is us trying to make the out of focus, out of sync image become clear and focused. In so many of these debates, too, are the forgotten non-binary people, and trans men, many of whom would still need access to abortion services and natal care.

That's why this is intersectional. This isn't "men taking women's spaces," this is a patriarchal system upset that the tradition roles it has enforced for hundreds of years is being broken down, and the people who have been othered, marginalized, and suppressed for so long have managed to make connections around the world (thanks, TV, phone, and internet!) and have realized we deserve to be equals, too. Proletarian, intersectional feminism is the idea that the white, cisgender, male, patriarchal, land owning system has held sway for so long that people honestly think the nuclear family, as it is, and men in power, as they are, is the way it has been for humans all throughout history, and it just isn't so. We deserve better than this, all of us.
