[YT="Averngers trailer here!!!"]E9cuGZJ9DP0[/YT] or here... http://www.youtube.com/embed/E9cuGZJ9DP0 Rep me, bitches!!!!
this might be the single greatest action movie yet made... I loved the "what are you without the armor" exchange!
Looks like Loki will be the villain, eh? Makes sense. Gotta be somebody beyond norrmal human capabilities to challenge these guys, especially w/ Thor included in the mix. I've never read the Avengers comics. Who are the typical villains in those?
Scarlett! I refuse to judge summer blockbusters on their trailers though. Most of the movies leading up to this were poor.
I know Loki was the villain in their very first issue in the 60's. Um...that, I can't recall. Usually big guys, I figure. Loki, and The High Evolutionary are the only ones that immediately spring to mind.
Okay, the asteroid hitting the Earth can wait until after this comes out. Oh, and amongst all that uber-coolness, is it wrong that I focused in almost exclusively on Scarlett J?
I have a feeling a lot of girls are gonna join their boyfriends at the theater for this one. I'm seeing a lot of comments on facebook from female friends on how hot Robert Downey and Chris Evans are... I guess this movie will have something for everyone. And Samuel L. Jackson will get to do more than just cameo in these movies. Still not jazzed about the Hawkeye 'costume'. He needs something a little more distinct.
And we'll get the superheroey badassness out of him were were screwed out of by George "I wrote this shit in an afternoon, and went with the rough draft", Lucas.
Skrulls and Loki, working together? I can dig that. This movie will be the single high point of whatever year it comes out.
Considering Joss Whedon is involved in this, I am expecting some great dialogue out of everyone, especially Jackson and Downey.
This looks like it's gonna rock. And I love the look of the Hulk so far...it looks like Mark Ruffalo!
ok, some of you Marvel folks want to explain to me how this Hawkeye fellow rates playing on the A-team? I don't see "he's a great archer" being enough...
He's supposed to be a FREAK good archer, like, he can shoot off a flea's nut hairs without it noticing.
Orgasmic, obviously! But it's the LITTLE touches I like too, like Tony Stark (aka "Iron Man") wearing a Black Sabbath T-Shirt lol
I just don't see how you do that much with an arrow, outside of deliver explosives or kill one man. i have the same complaint about Green Arrow except when the meme is, as it was in JLU, that he's the conscious of the league.
Eh, gadget arrows, trick shots that make stuff fall on an enemy, or contrived situations where you need to deliver a monster's Kryptonite to its one weak point, and you absolutely must not miss.
Hawkeye is, indeed, just a regular guy. And a Green Arrow knock-off. I think his importance comes more from his history with the Avengers. He has been with the team since almost the very beginning, and has been a constant presence on the team through numerous iterations. He was also one of the founders of the short-lived West Coast Avengers. He even rated highly enough to be included in many of the Avengers based video games. Dunno if anyone remembers the Captain America and the Avengers arcade game from the mid 90s These are probably the most prominent heroes to be primarily identified with the Avengers (rather than with the Fantastic Four or the X-Men or some other team) Captain America Iron-Man Thor Ant Man/Goliath The Wasp Hawkeye Quicksilver Scarlet Witch Black Panther Vision Black Widow Ms. Marvel I left out Hulk even though he was a founding member because he resigned after the 1st issue and has not really spent much time with the Avengers over the years. Like Spider-Man, he is kind of a loner. And, actually, Nick Fury and SHIELD originally had nothing to do with the Avengers. That whole thing came out of the Ultimate Avengers comics (including the changing of Fury's race). This new movie seems to be an amalgamation of the classic Avengers origin story and the Ultimate Avengers story.
Well, also, superhero teams having a super marksman is a storytelling tradition going back to Robin Hood, and the rifleman guy on Baron Munchausen's team. ...and, he's a Green arrow ripoff...
I don't object to a guy like that in principle, I just what there to be some...chemistry...reason for him. Like he's a master tactician, or he's "the conscious of the league" or he started the thing in the first place so he makes the roster or whatever. i agree with the list of ways you can use him, but one thing I don't like about guys like this is their relative vulnerability compared to the rest. If you have a vilian that can go toe-to-toe with Thor, isn't he a helluva threat to the ordinary guy who's a really good archer? I just would like it if there was a counterbalance. But then, if you think of it, a LOT of superhero details get pretty iffy, as we've discussed many times in the past
Is this going to be one flick, or is this a planned trilogy? If it's just the one movie, it better be worth the hype after all these years of anticipation!
Two thoughts: 1) Thor does not look nearly as buff as in his flick. The God of Thunder ought to be ripped in his arms and shoulders. :azure: Seriously...it took me out of the moment. 2) "...a group of remarkable individuals" = "a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" ?!?
