D 52 - 48 R in the Senate. House to Rs but margin is so narrow that it will be chaos. If McCarthy is initial Speaker we will have three during next Congress. If not then two. I retain the right to revise this at any time.
Regarding the Senate, I think we have to wait on the New Hampshire primary. Maggie Hassan is not guaranteed to win in November. Would hate to see the electorate go the way of Maine and vote for a bumbling Republican.
And they are putting the money in Ohio. I think Tim Ryan will still lose but he is running a great campaign that should be studied for running in dark purple/light red states. Having good candidates and good campaigns everywhere is a must.
This would be nice, but I'm guessing most of Palin's people will list Begich as their second choice, and most of Begich's people will list Palin as theirs.
I have solid hopes for Ryan (even though he's just mildly to the left of Manchin) and Barnes in Wisconsin - and great confidence in Fetterman. I acknowledge there's a non-zero chance for Demmings and Beasley but I'm wary of Florida and I thought NC was winnable last time before Cunningham literally fucked it up.
Same. I read a profile of her in Vanity Fair(?) a few weeks ago and she seems pretty decent. Especially for a cop.
Biden's approval ratings higher than Reagan's in '82, Clinton in '94, W in '06, Obama in '14, and Trump in '18.
Sort of a refreshing change from politicians having their votes bought by billionaires, don't you think?
There is no vote right now you dumb shit. However, it is true that people do tend to be more happy when you take some of the rocks out of the cart they are pulling.
Do the tax cuts that Libertarians are so fond of count as "buying people's votes"? Just curious what the criteria are here.
It should be said that access to education is something that would benefit everyone in society. It is also an equalizer for oppressed minorities and the poor when given away. It is also one of the most established and cheapest things you can do to help society evolve. Therein lies the problem when you have a very large powerful group using superstition and religious lies to control, fleece, and motivate their supporters. Federal fuckup would not know anything about that because he is one of the biggest fluffiest sheeple around.
I'll bite: How do tax cuts for billionaires help me? Meanwhile, 12.9% of Americans have student loan debt. By contrast, there are less than 1,000 billionaires in America.
Me. Because that's what we got under Trump. The taxes for us common folk will be going up, after getting a slight break, because that's how the Republicans structured them. So, the billionaires get to keep their tax breaks, while the rest of us, not only lose ours but have them go up. Oh, and I think that you'll find, regardless of who's in power, tax cuts only generally benefit the wealthiest of Americans.
(Sigh, fine) Gubernational candidate Doug Mastriano got suckered good in his haste to trip over himself reporting some good poll numbers: Even after it was apparent to almost anyone with a functional brain that the pollster was a parody account, Mastriano's campaign left it up because his base don't fit that criterion. https://crooksandliars.com/2022/08/fake-pollster-doug-mastriano-retweeted
