Seven months away and things are getting nasty..
It’s going to get a lot nastier. The Democrats will probably take a beating then after the new year we head into the 2024 presidential election.
Kemp is in a lose/lose situation. He did the right thing by not contesting the election, but the Trumpers refuse to let it go. If he makes it through the primary he has a good chance in the general, but if Perdue wins, I think he's toast no matter what the climate in Washington is.
I can't remember if we've talked here about the legislative nominee (guess what party?) in Michigan who ...
Said that feminism was "a Jewish program to degrade and subjugate white men"
Said he told his daughters that if they were ever raped, they should just lie back and enjoy it
Ended up with his own daughter tweeting "if you're in Michigan and 18+ pls for the love of god do not vote for my dad"
He just lost his special election for a vacant House seat.
To a Democrat.
By a 52-40 margin.
In a district that went 63-37 for the Republican in 2020.
There were three other House races in Michigan special elections this week. All three skewed more Democratic than 2000, though by smaller margins, presumably since they didn't feature a Republican nominee who counseled his daughters to enjoy being raped.
16th District: 2020 results 71D-27R, 2022 results 73D-27R
36th District: 2020 results 69R-31D, 2022 results 60R-40D
43rd District: 2020 results 60R-40D, 2022 results 57R-43D
Yep, this abortion fight has ensured that and of course "never let a good crisis go to waste." The Democrats learned this from Rahm Emanuel and they're using this crisis to raise money.
More at the link.
Remember this guy?
He’s got a new campaign ad.
Does that mean Mitch McConnell will be found at the bottom of Lake Meade?
"Never let a crisis go to waste" is something that every political party in the US has taken advantage of since the founding of the nation. To give but a more recent example, let me just point out that were it not for 9/11, Bush would have had a much harder time drumming up support to invade Iraq. Roll it back even farther, and there's no way FDR could have been elected, let alone implemented his New Deal programs without the Great Depression, and then there's the explosion of the USS Maine that allowed the US to go to war against Spain and gain control of places like Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
Agree w all of this except Cawthorn.
It's not his face fucking another guy we should have a problem with, only that it's his cousin.
Joke's on them.
Madison Cawthorne concedes that he has a girl's first name the primary.
I get why people would dislike Fetterman.
But Fetterman is also quite willing to rub PA Republicans with his dick. So I'm not really upset about him getting the nomination. Not gonna let the perfect be the enemy of the good (and Lamb has some baggage that indicates he's the Mitt Romney of PA Dems).
Fetterman is definitely the best play if Dems want to flip that seat.
He's certainly no Madison Gesiotto.
A short thread that shows this guy’s a real piece of shit.
Well, if he can’t see how the two are connected, then he should not be governor.
So I am waiting, did @Federal Farmer pass his midterms or not? The grades have got to be out by now.
This is not as great a thing as it seems. GA still put Walker in for the GOP against Warnock. Kemp is not great even though Trump does not like him, and he is probably more likely to win than Purdue who had a tainted reputation and runs people away from voting. The dems should have taken a page from the reps playbook and infiltrated the republican primary to elect perdue. Just sayin Stacey Abrams is probably going to lose to Kemp.
