The Niners won this weekend, and so did the Browns, but more importantly, so did I! Won my league finals in a nail biter that all came down to the Dallas defense not scoring more than 10 points. They scored 8. That strip sack with 4 minutes left was terrifying! Lessons learned this year: Don't quadruple up on one offense. If you do, play them all. You probably did it for a reason, and they're probably going to outscore your bench. Running backs are perpetually hard to come by. I will be playing Adam Vinatieri until the end of time. Dude can kick. Game flow analysis > individual player analysis for predicting performance. Of course, there was no reason at all for the Chargers to lose on Saturday, and yet... Pretty much all tight ends suck. Even shitty teams occasionally have players who don't suck at scoring fantasy points.
I entered 2 NFFC Cutline contests and 5 draft leagues with a total investment of $670.00. Got bounced out of the Cutline before I collected. With the 5 draft leagues I made 4 Super Bowls and one Semi-final. Won 2 of the SB's, including the league that I c0-started in 1993. Still the most important of all my leagues. Cashed out at $2,025.00. While it was a nice ROI, the time investment hardly made it profitable, lol. Oh, Broke dead even on Draft Kings. Better than losing!
Now the probability space is down to Packers@FALCONS and Steelers@PATRIOTS! So, using TNG's "PARALLELS" as my guide, the SuperBowls will play out something like this across the multiverse: Universe A Packers@STEELERS Universe B Packers@PATRIOTS Universe C Falcons@STEELERS Universe D Falcons@PATRIOTS And then as far as who wins & loses? Taking the multiverse into account, all of these teams both win & lose these games, dependent upon the quantum reality they're in. I probably mucked this up somehow, maybe(?), but I don't want to go into any longhaired Treknobabble!
These are two of the better Conference Championship matchups I can remember, hopefully the games live up to what's on paper. I don't have a horse but we could be in for some seriously good football here! I'm calling a Packers/Pats Superbowl.
@Ten Lubak IIRC the SuperBowl 20 years ago was Packers vs Patriots! Yeah, just BING'd it. Here's info about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXXI
Patriots vs Falcons Both teams basically steamrolled their opponent. Hopefully we get a good game in Super Bowl 51
I do too and I live in New England. I don't know if the stage and lack of Super Bowl experience will be too much for them though. The Patriots will take away the chunk passes and try and bait Ryan into a couple big mistakes. The Falcons tried twice last week to give the ball away and were lucky to fall on it both times. I think they need to play over their heads to win but we shall see.
The perfect Super Bowl in my opinion. From the President Bush coin toss to the near runaway in the first three quarters to the outstanding Lady Gaga halftime performance to the history-making comeback to the history-making overtime. Perfect.
The Texas Rangers have reportedly been called in to investigate into the matter to Tom Brady's missing game jersey. Nice to know where our law enforcement priorities are.
Bears finally get rid of Cutler. Jets might be interested. Browns also drop Robert Griffin III in favor of getting Brock Osweiler from the Texans.
Cleveland is already getting inquiries from other teams about getting Ossholer. Pawning off that shitbag's contract on the Browns is the only smart move the Texans franchise has ever made. And I hate that team. Cutler's worthless, BTW. Always has been. Point of order, this should probably be a new thread because the new league year started on Thursday.
