Pretty brutal that they don't have a live feed from inside the capsule.

    Come on, Bezos. :dayton:

Captain Kirk has returned to Earth!

Meanwhile, my pot of coffee is still brewing. That's how quick the Blue Origin trip is from takeoff to landing. Jeez.

Well, if he took a ride with SpaceX he'd totally own the Shat.

Blue Origin barely qualifies as "space".

No, no, they do. Their passengers have to qualify and take extensive training. Besides paying for it.

ok, that's a worthy use of twitter. As much as Shatner is cringe-worthy, Bezos just shat himself.

This. SpaceX is so far ahead of Blue Origin that Bezos is resorting to lawsuits and publicity stunts. That said, Elon totally needs to send the Shat AND Takei up for a few orbits.

It's awesome that an actor known for playing a space explorer has gone into space. And at 90 years old, no less!

And, yes, SpaceX is on a whole 'nother level compared to Blue Origin. But Blue Origin's achievement is still real.

Blue Origin is doing shit that NASA was doing in the 1960's.

I'd hardly call that an achievement.

But again, SpaceX did the booster landing thing first anyway.

Yes, but they're doing it privately and they're putting private citizens into space. And probably much more safely than was done in the 1960s.

You're a bad Canadian for not watching the right news program, then. Turns out one of your networks had exclusive rights to it.

In A Man on the Moon, Andrew Chaikin describes spaceflight the same way Bill Cosby described cocaine "It intensifies your personality!" To which, the Cos' question seems valid in the case of Shat, "But what if you're an asshole?"

I'm jealous, really jealous. But I can say the same the same for the crew of Inspiration 4.

But... I'm happy for him. I really am. I only wish it could have been Nimoy, Kelley, Takei, or Doohan that made this flight. All of them inspired hundreds, if not thousands of men and women to become engineers, scientists, doctors, pilots, and even astronauts. More so than the character of Kirk did. They deserved it more for their inspiration and for giving so many people something to dream about and aspire to.

At the very least, it would have been perfect to have Takei be the one to launch this flight of Blue Origin.
