So basically, using their favored language of victimhood, Texas Republicans have found a way to legalize extortion. If you don't help prop up their favorite industries, that must mean you're boycotting those industries, and therefore you must be punished. Want to do business in Texas? First, give some money to Exxon.
Yeah, this ain't good. Before and after shots of Enterprise Bridge (tee hee) at Lake Oroville in California. One of the upshots of the receding Lake Mead waters is that they're finally starting to find all the bodies that the Vegas mob dumped there back in the 60s and 70s. Who knows? Maybe they'll find Jimmy Hoffa.
Almost expected to see Matthew McConaughey driving a pick up truck out of that dust storm, on his way to the underground NASA launch site.
Twitter thread by some climate scientists talking about how much it would cost to use Carbon Dioxide Reduction technology (think shit that sucks the CO2 out of the air) to hold us to one degree of warming.
The right leaning Coalition government of Australia that was an anchor on us regarding climate change policy has seen one of their worst losses in 40 years. Multiple members in safe seats have lost to independents based mainly on anger around climate change policy. In the election post mortems starting now, many of politicians on the right are publicly acknowledging they should have done more. I think that Australia being an international embarrassment in this area is about to become a thing of history.
It took a global pandemic to knock the fact that most of your country was on fire out of the headlines. What a world we live in.
Fuck it's been a long three years. One of the things that absolutely fucked the government was climate change focused independents running in areas that faced fires or the recent floods.
