Registering

I almost give up on this bord because it was a week since I registered and I never did get any answers to the e mails I sent. Most people who want to join a bord want to post right then and there not set around for a week and having there e mails ignored. Is there a reason you make people wait a whole week?Des

It might be due to some spamvertising. If accounts are only approved 1 day a week it might be nice to know which day.

No one was "jumping on you." This thread was just moved to the proper forum so the administrators will be able to see it. I think only the admins are able to allow new users to join, in order to filter out duals and spambots. I don't know if any of them are on right now, because they desire to keep themselves hidden for some reason.

 

I'm Red Room mod and I moved it, but don't assume I have anything to do with registering new accounts.

I've got a friend that's been waiting for three weeks to get accepted onto WF. Even so, you don't come in and start shouting at the people here. Bad manners.

Or, at least, if you're going to start shouting right away, don't complain when people shout back.

 

I honestly would like to see the admins handle registration more efficiently because a lot of people seem to get turned away either because they get frustrated with the long registration or because they're suspected duals. I'm fine with a few spam bots getting through if it meant expediting registration for real members as well. The mods/admins have proven they can handle spam attacks effectively.

If it meant hiring an extra hand to just deal with approving registrations, I'm sure someone like Face would be willing to step up.

I go through when I have a chance and remember to do it. I have to seperate potential members from the spammers.

Lethesoda...no one has been waiting three weeks to join WF. I have gone through the queue several times in three weeks.

 

This is not a reason someone is denied, unless they are a dual of a banned member.

It is mainly Ad spammers who are refused. And it is almost ridiculous how many of them there are.

 

Alrighty, but I do know that a friend of TKO's and mine applied, and I didn't realize she'd been accepted already. If she has.

If she hasn't..tell her to join again and let me know her name so I can expedite the process or so she isn't refused by accident for some reason.

Aye. Some of the newbie names don't make much sense and look an awful lot like spambot names. It can be hard to tell, but we're pretty sure we've got a decent system.

Ah. This explains why my buddy, MakeMoneyFast, can't get a membership.

 

One of my friends tried registering under the name Cialis, but got turned away.

He then tried again with the name BIG_BONER_NOW.
