This is something that vB should really look into. We can hide entire categories of forums with that little green arrow. There should be a way they code it to hide a thread from view.
A few parodies can spawn some discussion... 'tis rare, admittedly, but I dunno how a filter would work.
The only solution I can think of is asking parody thread starters to select some sort of post icon, and then filter out threads with that icon.
I'm usually good about putting an icon to indicate a parody. But, if it became policy, just you watch me skirt it.
How about don't read them and don't respond? That's a hell of a lot easier than trying to get any unnecessary changes on this board. It's worked for four years, and'll work for four more.
Yes, god forbid I ask for a feature... Anyway, it only really annoys me when half the board decides they are witty and has to make their own parody thread of the same thread.
I don't say that often but: I agree with Archangel (damn that hurt). Those threads are really annoying, and none ever makes it to more than 10 posts.
^Which means they quickly drop off the front page. Some are lame, some are so funny they make me laugh out loud. I wouldn't want to lose the few good 'uns for the sake of losing the lame.
