As TKO just pointed out, there are ways to get the morning-after pill mail-order.

And many police stations will provide it, I believe, if you've been raped.

Which is about the only occurrence I can think of where you'd absolutely need the morning after pill.

Hmm... on the internet access I agree, and I agree on the other guy's post about over-controlling parents.

But for grown women with internet it works well.

Though I see what you mean.

I need a "Wow, you make sense!" smilie.

However, I'd like to say that my dad uses Amazon.com to have computer manuals shipped to HONDURAS.
    And they get there. :diacanu:

Seems like, if you aren't raped, and didn't use proper birth control, you deserve what ya get.

Yes because we want careless, stupid, short-sighted people raising children.

    Lots of children...

Because you don't pay taxes, are independently wealthy, and live on a crime-proof fortified island???

    Awesome.

    No, I just don't care.

A couple of country yokels who get abortions won't affect my taxes enough to make me care.

    A wise woman should.

Someone willing to use those and regularly has sex, should have a supply on hand just in case.

I don't plan on indigestion or headaches but keep Rolaids and Tylenol on hand.

Umm...because controlled substances laws and nondiscrimination laws are laws, while no law guarantees access to these drugs. Honestly, this is not a difficult concept to understand. You're confusing the government enforcing existing law with the government enforcing your sociopolitical beliefs.

Several of the Walgreens in my area don't carry Oxycontin. Should they have their license taken away too?

Yes..you apparently have a right to these drugs! A right!! Who knew?

Or does that only work for drugs that match a leftist agenda and major talking point like abortion? :marathon:

Well, frankly I tend to think that if the law allows you to purchase something, you do have a right to it.

Provided you can find a supplier of it, that is.

This doesn't seem any worse to me than Wal-Mart not selling Marilyn Manson CD's.

Pretty much. Though I think Bryce has an asbolute right to chemical castration drugs and the pharmacy licensing board in his state should shut down any pharmacy which denies him that right.

    Actually, in Illinois there is.

At least according to all the signs in the pharmacies saying that you have a legal "right" to BC.

Refuse to sell it here, they can yank your license.

Wow, I didn't know that my concern for my 2 daughter's future access to proper health care was part of a "leftist agenda".

I guess that I never should have let them learn how to read, or to have opinions and to think for themselves either, I guess...

Yeah but these arguments could get ridiculous quick. I grew up playing with toy guns, and as they're not illegal I think my son should be able to grow up playing with them too. But damn Toys R Us and KB are denying him his right to toy guns by not carrying as many as they once did! (Ummm...when he's born. Yeah, firm rule in our house. No toy guns until you're born.)

I see what you're saying, but I think forcing a business owner to sell particular products is a risky thing.

Or maybe you should teach them what causes pregnancy to avoid that situation in the first place. Or are you already planning for your daughters to have indisciminant sex as often as they want?

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that a store should be forced to supply these things.

It seems ridiculous when you really think about it. How does a government have the right to tell you what you HAVE to carry in your inventory?

I am hoping that if one of my daughter's ever get raped, or makes a stupid mistake mistake*, they have options open to them other than forced motherhood.

*Oh wait, what was I thinking...teens are well known for NEVER EVER making dumb mistakes. My bad.

Yeah, you have to wonder how the liberal side of the spectrum would feel about being forced to carry handguns and ammunition in their stores.

Instances of pregnancy from rape are fairly small. It happens, but not so much that it can be leaned on so heavily for a crutch.

And as for the stupid mistake: We all have to pay for them. I made lots of mistakes in my life that I'm still paying for.

What's funny is that these pharmacists who refuse to sell BC (emergency or otherwise) readily sell Viagra.

To anyone, and marital status is never asked.

It's okay for men to fuck all they want...but if some woman gets knocked-up by it, the stupid careless slut should shut up and and stay barefoot and in the kitchen, I guess.

Are you also hoping they never have to deal with the consequences of their own actions, too?

As far as rape goes, the drug could be stocked in hospital pharmacies to be administered to rape victims if they request it.

Oh brother. You love trotting out the tired liberal clichés, don't you?

Viagra requires a prescription. But let's let not facts interfere with your ignorant diatribe.

Funny how we are fighting a war against fundamentalist Muslim ideology, and yet many of us have
views about women that aren't all that dissimilar from theres...

    Oh, I disagree.

I'm certainly pro-choice. A woman has every right to choose.

I just think they ought not to abort.

As for birth control...if your dumb ass can't keep your legs closed OR be bothered to use birth control, I feel no sympathy if you get saddled with a kid.

That said, I do think it's hypocritical to refuse the morning-after pill, yet still sell condoms.

Do you have children? Do you want them to have to suffer with the consequences of every single mistake made as a kid for the rest of their lives?

Oh well, that's good, because no rape victim has even been so shamed and scared shitless that they avoided a doctors (or police) office afterwards.
