    Even the Scot Nats are rather more scared about what would happen if England voted for total Scottish independence...
    I really don't think you guys realise how much the resentment is growing down here: especially in the south-east, we are getting totally fucked off.

    Our national DNA database was unofficial for a few years because it turned out the police weren't as prompt as they should be dumping samples after a suspect was cleared.

    How much of a formality is it for law enforcement in the US to get a warrant for CCTV on private property like store security cams?

    I suspect the amount of shit the US government gets away with is at least as bad, it's just when our government gets found out, "national security" isn't considered a valid excuse, so they've started slipping the facts out quietly because people, amazingly, make far less fuss about it if you tell them right from the start.
