For example, thanks to the success of the Amytiville Horror, there are people who stand on the street taking pictures of it and on the watch out for any kind of paranormal phenomenae.
The reason for the 555 before each number is because rabid fans often try to call those numbers to see if it's real person and if they can get that now famous person's autograph.
