Ok so while were on the subject of concealment...what holsters do ya'll use? I havent been too happy with what I've seen so far, until I came across the Minotaur MTAC . This one looks promising, especially for use in warmer climates. What do ya'll think?

I just carry a plain old Fobus paddle holster. It's not great, but it's just barely good enough. You might want to check out the Milt Sparks VM-2. The VM-2 is pretty much what all IWB holsters are compared to.

Well, with regards to the pros and cons of an ambi safety, it's not so much clear cut as it is a matter of personal preference. The safety is one of those things that if it really needed to be there, John Moses Browning would have put it there. (Actually, JMB originally didn't have a manual safety at all, and he resisted when the Dept of War insisted that he put one on. He figured the grip safety was good enough.)

An ambi-safety would certainly come in handy when shooting with your weak hand, but that doesn't mean that someone who practices weak handed shooting in case of a broken arm or whatever, but doesn't like ambi safeties is contradicting himself. With practice, you can work a right handed safety with just your left hand. Hell...with practice, you can load a magazine and rack the slide one-handed.

Criminals have been concealing them for decades. The single stack does it, I think.

That's exactly it. My sig just prints ridiculously badly and rides kind of top heavy in the holster. My 1911 only prints if I try to make it print. The only thing is I have to make sure my conceal garment is long enough to cover the muzzle...but that's no biggie.

Handgun combat technique is constantly evolving. Your information is 14 months out of date. :nyer:

Yes, replacing my precious floral print with a Gators pattern would be an easy way to go wrong. :nyer:

OK, I know I don't shoot anything as much as most people around here, but I can honestly say I've never fired anything with both eyes open...
Not much experience of handguns, to be sure, but if I'm aiming anything - darts, arrows, airguns, shotguns, rifles - my left eye is shut...

Keeping both eyes open keeps your depth perception. I usually squint my left eye a little bit.

I did what El said this morning to see what happened... and I have to squint, otherwise I see two guns.

I'm right-handed and shoot right-eyed. Dad taught me to aim right-eyed from the get-go, and not develop any bad habits.

Remember: the left eye is the evil eye, hence the latin "ocularis sinister".

 Me too, every time I try those tests...
Maybe I need to try greater distances, but at those of which I have experience, two eyes really ain't an option...

Just to qualify my remarks. I only keep both eyes open when using a handgun, a holosight, or a very low power scope (1.5x). When I'm using iron sights on a rifle or a scope turned to a higher setting, I close my left eye.

No. I did the aiming thing that you talked back on page one... When I have both eyes open fully I see the gun twice, side by side. When I squint my left eye the one fades out. When I squint the right eye, the other fades out.

Wasn't that in Unforgiven where Gene Hackman was telling the Duck of Death and the writer about the guy called Two Gun Something-Or-Other and said he only carried one gun, but they called him that because his dick was so big?
