If it syncs up with The Dark Side of the Moon, I might give it a shot.

    Otherwise... :dayton:

That was a really interesting and original miniseries.

I'm pissed they didn't pick it up as a regular series. :(

You can't stand standard def on a big TV screen, but watching a tiny little iPod screen is fine?

Is it fine? Yes, just fine. Besides it gives me something to do when I'm on the treadmill.

So, what did you all think? I liked it. It bore little resemblance to either the "Wizard of Oz" or Baum's book, but watching it as it's own entity, I thought it pretty good. Casting was good, except the chick who played the Sorceress (I wonder how many of the producers she fucked to get the part....). Production value was excellent for a Sci Fi mini, and I have to say, I am looking forward to seeing the rest over the next couple of days.

Twas OK, nothing spectacular but not the horrible crap fest some were predicting. All in all nothing worse than the countless volumes of C grade fantasy crap that populates bookshelves these days.

    It's on again tonight, 7/6c.

I thought it was alright. Not brilliant, but good enough to warrant watching another episode or two to see how it goes.

Edit: It's also available at www.scifi.com.

It really bugs me that they call it 'The O.Z.' and not 'Oz'. Makes me wonder when the 'California' theme song is going to kick in.

It pisses me off to no end that they didn't give it the go ahead for series.

Think of it this way- it didn't have the chance to be corrupted into Enterprise-2.

It broke sci-fi channel ratings records. The first part aired to 6.3 million viewers. That's more than the BSG mini series by almost 2 million.

Sci Fi's audience is starving for something new and different, even if it turns out mediocre.

After all the endless commercials I watched about half an hour. If you watched it with the sound off it wasn't so bad. With sound it was a huge pile of crap. An absolute insult to L Frank Baum fans everywhere. I'm sure they will rerun it a bunch.
