Oh, and I did my best to run her fat bastard, non-hacker brother out of our NROTC unit way back in the day. He eventually DOR'd, but I don't think it was due to my abuse, more's the pity.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, Sponge's cover of the "Speed Racer" theme is . (There are some annoying interruptions of the song in this clip, but it was the best one I could find. )

wow, looks like a true to the source material movie. It'll be weird and quirky. kids should love it. I'm glad they didn't try to make a "real life" version. can't wait.

Speed Racer used to be my favorite show in 1st and 2nd Grade.

You know what I always like about the old Japanese cartoons? The world they showed: A five lane highway running straight as an arrow through a lush green world, with sunny blue skies, and the only traffic is the Mach 5 and whoever Speed is chasing or being chased by. Where's THAT world? WHERE IS MY FLYING CAR, GORRAM IT?

Against every cynical bone in my body, I want to see this. John Goodman's in it, and the kid playing Speed (don't recognize him) is not too shabby.

I want to make Christina Ricci my good Christian Wife and then do unspeakable things with her for about two months.

Christina Ricci is weird for me. She was, of course, Wednesday Addams back when I was in my very early 20s. So I somehow conditioned myself that she was inappropriate jailbait. (I had the same thing about Natalie Portman from "The Professional".) Now I'm old and I've come to terms with that child actors will one day (all too soon) become hot and I'll want to do dirty dirty things with them. I'll spare anyone any details on that, but the bottom line is, to this day Christina Ricci does nothing for me.*








*That said, if I ever met her and she said she wanted to screw me I'd have her clothes off before she finished the sentence. I'm just not looking for Maxim photo shoots with her to over.

Also, no gruesome, horrific fates await people who recklessly haul ass in open-topped race cars with no roll cages or seat belts.
