I didn't mean to say you were. I was meaning the attitude was taken too far on occasion by ignorant sumbitches. I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly that you have to be responsible for your own security. I also recognize that there are predators out there who will take advantage of even the smallest chink in the armor or the momentary lapse in judgment we are all prone to once in a while. It is sad this type of individual exists, but they do.

A few years ago, the college Women's Resource Center was giving out "rape whistles".

I don't get it. I guess it's supposed to add a festive, party atmosphere to the event, but I just found it noisy and distracting. I much prefer rape glowsticks.*









*Or, in the case of date rape, rape candles. They really set the mood nicely.
