I received my set of the first three Rambo movies as well as the most recent one in Blu-ray.

I am pleasantly surprised at the transfer of the first three. It is great to sit back and see these movies again in order as well. They remind me of the fun I had back in the 80's and part of the 90's going to the movies to see the "action" movies of the era. Movies like the Rambo series, a lot of the Arnie movies like Commando, Total Recall, Conan, and etc.

I was tempted to get the 3 Terminator movies on Blu-Ray in a set the other day, but I passed on it.

I've thought about purchasing that set as well. Unfortunately, I can't say that I'm all that interested in getting the third Terminator movie.

I already owned the BRD of First Blood; I picked up Rambo: First Blood Part 2 and the new Rambo last week. I passed on 3 because (1) it's the weakest of the series and (2) I've already got a copy on DVD.

2's really a great action flick (it was written by James Cameron). I was surprised the BRD looks as good as it does.

4's a new movie which some liked, and some didn't. I thought it was pretty good. With all the news about Myanmar lately, it seems fairly prophetic. I watched the flick with the Stallone commentary the other day and that was pretty enjoyable: Stallone's a deeper thinker than I think most would give him credit for. The absolute carnage that Rambo unleashes at the end is...awesome.

I used to spend my summers with my grandparents and my grandfather had a t.v. which only got two channels, cricket and news and he had a vcr with one tape. That tape was First Blood. Me and my brother would watch First Blood at least three times a day and then cut our shirts into strips, tie them around our heads and beat each other senseless until my grandmother pulled us apart. I'm going to have to pick this set up.

Also I have heard a few interviews with Stallone, never knew he was a conservative, being hollywood and all and he's actually a pretty intelligent guy, still need a translator though to figure out what the fuck he's saying.

The first few times I heard him in interviews I was pleasantly surprised at what amounts to how different he is from the Rocky personna. I think he is so well known for the part of Rocky they sort of expect him to be like that when he isn't.

When I get my gubmint money, I'm planning on picking up the first two Rambo movies, and Commando. The first was a surprisingly good movie. I didn't see it until years later, after I had seen the second one, and it wasn't the mindless action flick I expected it to be.

The second one is still awesome for its pure 80s action cheesiness. Like with Commando, it's one of those movies I find myself saying "Fuck, this is awesome. Why don't they make them like this anymore?" It would be disappointing as a follow up if it wasn't so fun in its own right.

I still haven't seen the other two.

I finished watching Rambo with the commentary track switched on from Sylvester Stallone and it was an interesting way to watch that movie.
