True, when are you going to leave?

Seriously, many folks here are "TNZ refugees".

Are you implying that Obama is completely unable to function without his handlers? :marathon:

Oh, and regarding the subject line, it occurs to me that Obama actually would make a perfect UN President. He's got a funny foreign-sounding name. He's a sort of nonthreatening vaguely diverse skin color. And he has a completely impractical Big Government political agenda full of vague, unactionable ideas. Oh, and he's anti-gun and may or may not hate Israel.

So showing up for a canned Thanksgiving Dinner is supporting the troops? Off the top of my head I can give you a dozen ways I'd much rather he show his support (instead of fighting tooth and nail every time).

No, I'm implying that Obama is a Presidential candidate, and as such doesn't want to risk making some public blunder that'll cost him support.

    I see. :cylon:

Really, Hillary's "who do you want to pick up the phone at 3am" ad is looking more and more germane every day. :chris:

Here's the thing: When you're President of the last of the 20th Century superpowers, you need to be comfortable with risk--and at stakes that are considerably higher than losing an election. That Obama (or his handlers) isn't comfortable enough off the leash to go shake hands with some wounded soldiers and thank them for their service speaks volumes in my book. That his backers like yourself aren't comfortable enough with him going off the leash says even more. :chris:

For as much as Lefties whine about Dubya being a puppet with everyone from Darth Cheney and Darth Rove pulling his strings, the Obamessiah seems far more wooden. Hell, even Jesus ditched his disciples from time to time.

So, out of curiousity, 14th, just what do these handlers do that he can't be without them for even an hour or two? Subtly nudge him when he starts to curse America or call whites "devils"? Jump in the way if he decides he's going to spit on an American flag? It seems like Barak is a big enough boy to not need a baby sitter for every waking hour. If he isn't, he's probably not ready for the job he's interviewing for. :cylon:

I gotta confess, I was really having a hard time getting my head around how a Presidential candidate from a major party--arguably the front-runner even--could not be left alone for more than a brief period without getting into some sort of hot water. Fortunately, this IS the 21st century. So I have access to Google.

I did an image search for "obama staffer scandal" and found the photo below. The caption says the picture was taken shortly after Obama's staffers hustled a couple Muslim women in head scarves out of the picture. :techman:

That was certainly a convincing argument, I look forward to many more insightful contributions in the future.

Even Chuck Hagel, a Republican who went to Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Jordan with Obama this month, said Obama did the right thing:

My understanding is that the most holy order of tolerant liberals have conspired to run off those that won't tow the Obama line. That's just what I've been told by reliable sources within the administration that didn't want their names used because they weren't authorized to speak to the media. :clyde:

You'd have to ask the military. They're the ones that wouldn't allow them to come along.

    I suspect voodoo.

Actually, the specific reason his campaign gave was that the Army told them they couldn't.

Which wasn't exactly true. HE could have visited, but he wasn't allowed to bring his press entourage with him.

I think we're safe betting that President Obamessiah will be a douchebag of Clintonian levels when it comes to the military.

Don't ever expect him to salute any of those goddamn baby killers!

So, how large is your Kool Aid bill each month? You go through what, 3 or 4 tanker truck loads a month?
