The soundtrack for the first Transformers movie was as great as the film itself. The soundtrack for the 2007 Michael Bay Transformers was as shitty as the film.

But what if there was a good soundtrack/score for the recent Transformers movie; one in the tradition of the 1980s animated film? Who would you have provide the music to the Transformers movie of today? Here are my suggestions:

The Darkness - I would have them do the Transformers theme song in the highest key Justin Hawkins could sing it in. They would also contribute a couple of other tracks

Electric Six - They would be responsible for the Stan Bush songs, but Derek Webb would write for them.

The Raconteurs - I would make them responsible for the instrumentals, and maybe one track with vocals by Jack White.

Jack Black - He would provide the comic track like Weird Al did on the original Transformers soundtrack.

We obviously have different taste in music. I feel that the Steve Jablonsky score to the 2007 Transformers movie was one of the best orchestral scores to come out last year... I don't remember much about the 1980's animated movie, but from your descriptions and suggestions, it sounds horrible.

    :?:

Edit: Swapped in a working video. It's still Stan Bush's "The Touch", but with visuals from the 2007 movie.

    [yt=Jablonsky's "Arrival to Earth"]r9G-j_CzZ2o[/yt]

It's, quite possibly, one of my favorite songs.

The only theme music for a nemesis that was better is Darth Vader's IMHO.... oh, and JAWS.

OK... I'm gone now. I promise.

The 2007 Movie should have had the "The Touch" in there SOME WAY, SOME HOW.

"Megatron must be stopped, no matter what the cost." *cues music*

    Always gives me goosebumps...

    :wtf:

The music from the 1986 movie was good...for a cartoon.

It would've sucked if they used it for a live action movie. The new soundtrack was one of the things I LIKED about the new movie.

I enjoyed the music they chose to use for the recent movie. I'm not sure what the problem is with it that some have. I don't think the music they used for the cartoon feature film would've worked. I'm not sure it would've moved the movie in the direction or have the tone that they were looking for. Bay wasn't appearing to be treating the movie as a cartoon. At least that is my perspective.

Now take what they did with the Speed Racer movie this year. Now that one they appeared to be treating as a cartoon. At least in my opinion.
