Link I have mixed feelings about this. On the one had, yeah it's super fucked that "due diligence" was not done. If it had, they never would have raided the wrong house based on just an informant's tip. It's fucked up that innocent people were hurt and their lives thrown in turmoil over this. On the other hand, the SWAT team members themselves who participated in the raid don't have anything to do with the investigation side of things as far as I can tell. They are simply given a target and told GO. When you take that into account, it's actually a testament to the training of the SWAT team members that a bloodbath and several fatalities didn't ensue. What say you all?
I say give the family the same medals the cops got, since they were "shot at" as well, and without "protective gear". Who had more "valor"?
