We could certainly use the rain (we didn't get shit from that hurricane two weeks ago). I just hope it doesn't flood. Then again, I'm on light duty through 12 August, so for once I'll be nice and dry.
More like SUV's. SUV's are evil. They drive themselves too. At least that is how it seems when you read some of the news reports when there are accidents involving people who drive SUV's.
The latest update has it headed straight for Caboose and Tex, but passing well north of me and somewhat north of Ash.
I hope Caboose and Mrs. Caboose is prepared....doesn't she have some mobility issues? In any event...stay safe you guys!
No mobility issues here save my fat ass on a ladder thirty feet in the air. We're as ready as I usually get by this point. Besides, it's all insured. When storms are this close and it's not entirely certian it's a direct/semi direct hit, I usually wait for initial gusting to some degree final prep wise though the morning reports will tell if I send the family elsewhere inland like her Dad's. Probably will so I don't have to worry about them and the house both but that call is tomorrow morning. Got Ma's semi ready today, little crap like the trampoline, porch swing, and other assorted construction crap of mine in the back. I did forgot the glass entry door and need to go pull it at daybreak. May throw a board or two over some windows if I need to over there. It may go north of us still so I see no reason to board up just yet, especially here, the second story is a real bitch. The 3AM and 7AM reports will be the base of all decisions from here. I'm not worried at any rate. Only real concern is tornadic activity but that usually happens inland as it comes ashore.
5:10am So far so good. Looks like we dodged the worst of as it made a bit of a turn in north of us, but we'll get buffeted. My prayers are with them.
