Two more back to back Spider-Man movies? Really? After how bad Spider-Man 3 was? I dunno... Spider-Man 3 had the basic elements to be a great installment. 2 was excellent, and I thought 1 was good except for the godawful Goblin costume. Spider-Man 3 was just so contrived. The only part of the movie that worked for me was the Sandman aspect. The Venom character seemed to have been jammed into the movie at the last minute and the Harry Osborn storyline was just silly... especially the use of Harry's house servant as exposition. And then there was Peter acting like a complete douchebag for most of the movie.
I'm hoping for another Spider-Man 2. They need to give the stories for 4 and 5 some breathing room by not trying to jam them as full of stuff as Spider-Man 3. Bring on the Lizard, Mysterio, the Vulture, and Electro! I'd love for the intro for Spider-Man 4 to be Spidey battling one of these; they wouldn't even have to be THE villain for the movie, just a convenient and exciting way to introduce Spider-Man. "Who am I? I'm the guy battling the latest costumed menace. This one throws lightning bolts around..."
Give him 5 minutes to work out a plan, and Bats will clean up Spider-Man, Iron Man, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and the Silver Surfer!
Back to back could actually work, the big problem with Spiderman 3 was too much was going on so being able to spread things out (and with a cliffhanger) will be a big help.
More of a red room comment but gotta give Tobey credit for standing up for his family time. Some things are more important than money - especially when you're making that kind of money anyway!!
How dare Tobey consider life fleeting and family worth more than money. Does he NOT have priorities?!?! J.
Gotta agree with those wondering why anyone would be making a sequel to Spider-man 3. God, was that movie ever dreck. Totally unwatchable. Making Spider-man 4 is like making a sequel to Superman 4: The Quest for Peace.
