I checked my virtual console for the first time in a while today, and I saw this. It was added as the 250th game to virtual console. I loved that game, I'm gonna get it. (oh, and I noticed Mega Man 9 is out as well).
They had a major falling out after that one too, only in the past 5 years have they become friendly again.
i love super mario RPG i never got a chance to play any of the paper marios but i hear they were pretty good too. maybe i should download the 64 ones
64 one- there has been a Paper Mario for each system since the 64, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door for the GC and Super Paper Mario for Wii. 1 & 2 were great, but the Wii one sucked balls. It was a complete divergence from the RPG format, going totally platformer with RPG elements. Though there were two other Mario RPG titles that are a lot closer in playstyle to Super Mario RPG than the Paper Mario series; Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA) and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (DS). Both of those games rocked hard.
IMO, Super Paper Mario seemed pretty sweet. Although, I never actually played it, I did see one of my old roommates play through pretty much the entire game. Geno is the shit.
Super Paper Mario was okay on its own, but was in many ways a complete shift from the style of the prior two titles.
Oh, I really liked the Wii paper mario. While it wasn't like the original with the RPG stuff, it's still a great game. I skipped over Thousand Year Door, though, as I had no gamecube.
Me too but I don't have all my old consoles out and hooked up (although I do have them still). You have any idea what a daisy-chain of 4 RF adapters does to signal quality?
Well, my roommate has his SNES hooked up to the TV. I don't think I'd ever buy from the Virtual Console anyways since all they are are emulators that you pay more for and can do less with. No freeze games, no game genie (not that I would) etc.
Save states in emulated games are amazing- when you can save your spot in one of those long assed, arcade style games that has no means of continuation it is a beautiful thing.
I have one of those 4 tap AV cable thingies (technical term) you can get at GameStop or Radio Shack. I haven't noticed any signal drop with that.
