Left 4 Dead is up for pre-order on Steam. It's gonna come out on Nov 18th. Not sure if I am gonna pre-order, but I will almost definitely get this game. It looks awesome! For those that aren't familiar with it: it is an online, Co-op survival game. You band together with people online to blast zombies and hope to survive. It's made by Valve (people who made half life, counter strike, team fortress 2). http://www.l4d.com/ Anyone else planning to get this?
I don't know if my comp stacks up to requirements, and that would be the only way I'd play it. To top it off, powa and foil are my only steam friends, so I wouldn't have people to kick zombie ass with. Looks pretty cool though, been following it for months.
I'd play some L4D with you. And you can add Elwood too, I think. I may have my friend pre-order it for me (I can't purchase the way my mac is rigged to play it) so I'll be able to pre-load it then, probably.
I didn't preorder because I've got a birthday coming up in two weeks so I figure I'll let someone else buy it for me
Yeah, mid-Nov birthday is pretty kickass if you like games, since a lot of the most awesome games are released in November to be ready for Christmas. I think I'm gonna continue to be insanely busy until mid December anyway though, so I wouldn't really be able to play the demo much (or the actual game) until then anyway. This is the same reason I haven't gotten Fallout 3 yet: I just don't have the time.
I need games to play right now, anyways, since my xbox broke (fuckin' microsoft D I WOULD be playing Rockband 2 with all my nice new peripherals right now, but my xbox broke 2 days before it came in D: World of Goo and Mario Galaxy will hold me until L4D.
The game comes out today. I'm off to pick up my copy now. Been playing the demo on XBox 360 for the past three days, and I can't get enough. I'll probably be up into the wee hours of the night tonight, killing and maiming with reckless abandon. :marcoshoot:
I got this game yesterday. It's bloody brilliant. I'm really liking the amount of player interaction. Having to save them from attackers, use med kits, etc.
I've got an issue with source games crashing due to having XNA and DirectX sdk installed. :S I can fix it but it takes a long time and it re-breaks every time I build an XNA project (which I have to do multiple times a week). I'm gonna pick it up once this semester ends though.
Finally got it tonight, played for a couple of hours. It's pretty awesome, and it can be pretty intense. The AI director is great, you never know where zombies are going to come from. Has anyone else gotten it?
I bought it but it won't work on my computer (getting a new one Christmas break) so my friend is using my account to play.
Yeah the AI allies are not too bad at all. It's a lot more fun with friends though. I joined a server with my friends the other day and we didn't realize it was set to the highest difficulty... We finally realized it and set it down to the 2nd highest difficulty, and almost beat the death toll map. I think we were almost to the end of the 4th section when we got zerged bad inside of a tiny shed that had pain pills in it... bad timing for two huge swarms of zombies to spawn, we couldn't really shoot at them without hitting allies because the building was so tiny. Does anyone know if you can throw a pipe bomb at a crying witch and blow her up? Or does she run away from it? The witch is usually bad news so we try not to startle them generally, but every now and then they seem to be in really bad places.
