Now I'm a lot older than our girl, so it makes sense. I don't know if I'd been to six states when I was her age. Still...

Where you at,ymbr? That's another thing Anna has against her--she's smack dab in the middle of California, right on the coast. She could drive all day to the South and hit--nothing because all that is South of Cali is Mexico. She could drive the better part of a day and get into Oregon--but be miles from any towns or anything. Or she could drive for...a half a day? More? And get to...Reno, Nevada.

If you live in, say, New Jersey, you could hop in your car and in a day of driving you could probably visit 10 states.

(For the record, I don't count airports.) I've been at airports in Maine and Texas, but since I never left the airport, I don't consider having been there. My visit to Georgia consisted of driving up the highway from Florida to the first truck stop in Georgia, getting out of the car, getting gas, and turning around.

If I'd have paid attention to the map I could've banged out South Carolina then too. But I didn't, so I hung a left and headed for Alobama instead. So since I've already been to North Carolina (indeed, within about 10 miles of SC), I'll need to make a special trip sometime.

I was at 37 states when I was 20. Now I'm at 38. I haven't added anything new in quite a while but I do hit a lot of the old ones over and over again.

My question to Anna is, how can you possibly not be sure if you've been to 6 states... that "about" in there implies some level of uncertainty. I can't imagine being uncertain of a number less than at least 25.

I've been to all of them except Alaska, so it's 49. Plus I've lived in 10 of them.

North America, and Asia three times: Kuwait/Iraq, Korea, Thailand. On the way to Kuwait we stopped in Germany, but never left the airport, so I don't count that, and same thing with Japan on the way to Korea and Thailand, although I actually rode in an airport shuttle in Japan.

Wait. Japan isn't technically a continent, is it.

Thanks. I know they're pretty close to Portugal but, like I said, couldn't remember who they "belong" to. Kind of a pretty place, somewhere flat, but we didn't really get to see much of it.

47. I haven't been to Washington, Hawaii, or Alaska. I plan on hitting all of those up at some point.

As far as continents: Europe(Ireland is beautiful!). I plan on visiting as many as I can in the near future.
