I couldn't stand organizing a digital music collection. Then, if you wanted to listen to something new, you'd have to get off (on?) your ass and look for it.

Thank goodness for Slacker and a Blackberry with an unlimited data plan.

It's not theft in Canada. Well, not really, because the record companies are already being compensated with their "tax" that they convinced the gov't to impose on blank CDs. I have to pay this tax even when I only use a CD for music once out of every 20 CDs.

Yeah, but at least its nothing extreme.

I'm more concerned about the taxes on booze than I am with the taxes on CDs or DVDs.

Glad I use private trackers for TV Shows, Music, and Movies.

Public ones like TPB are usually the ones to go down. They are also the ones with viruses in the files and shitty quality.

I can get FLAC versions of any album I listen to. :) Even vinyl.

EDIT: Also, as far calling it theft or not, it is. I steal music, shows, movies, etc. Why do I do it? Because I don't support record labels. If I'm going to buy a CD/Vinyl(which I buy a lot of), then I get it from CD Baby or directly from the artist at a show. Most artists/groups only make money from their live shows and merch sales, so there is absolutely no point for me to buy it from the store.

Why do I steal movies? I hate Hollywood.

Why do I steal TV Shows? I hate Hollywood and I hate the commercials. I don't enjoy being sold a product while I'm trying to relax and watch some TV.

Only thing I don't steal is Software.

You hate Hollywood and you hate commercials, but you still watch their product?

    :wtf:

Far as I'm concerned, you can't justify stealing.

I've stolen software before. We needed a program at work that ran for about $60,000 dollars. Vestas wasn't willing to commit that much money without a 6 month trial(at least)....and the company who sold the product were being asses about it. So I downloaded the program, and we used it for 6 months before decided NOT to buy it.

I mostly download shows that we don't get over here, like Who and LOM and Ashes to Ashes. Well we get them here eventually, but I'm impatient and like to see them quicker and not butchered for commercial tv.
