Hopefully the young lad has learned the perils of looking up politically incorrect subject matter in government buildings on a government computer. Next time, he can go to Barnes & Noble and be treated well.

^ Not true, I know I'm the last three sane men on this godforsaken rock, and we've been very democratic on how to deal with you crazies.

Still doesn't help the fact that you keep going further down the stupid path.

Then again, working for the government tends to do that.

Oh, BTW....reading about 'illegal' stuff is not 'illegal.' Its called exercising your right to read whatever the hell you want.

Apparently you guys will need a clause in the constitution for that soon enough. :flow:

Oh I get it now. Your point is that if the boy had actually done something wrong, then the librarian would have been justified. That is a pretty pointless thing to say but even if it wasn't, UA absolutely demolished this type of thinking on the first page. And garamet is ridiculous for actually running with your completely irrelevant argument.

They view those rights like they do all the rest of the Constitution, as impediments to be done away with by a left wing SCOTUS.

Last time I checked libraries tend not to have books like the Anarchists Cook book in them.

Or for that matter books that give instructions on how to do something illegal or dangerous.

Heh. I wonder how Chris and Garamet would feel if the kid had asked for a book on freedom of speech and they'd called the cops on him. :marathon:

The librarian is retarded. The kid did nothing to warrant the police poking into his life.

At that age, my reaction to being unjustly detained and questioned would have been....unpleasant.

My eyes keep doing that thing where they see enough letters of a word and they tell your brain what they think it is and move on.... so I keep seeing that the libertarian killed the cops. Errr... called the cops.

    Fucking Freud.

I wonder how long we'll still have libraries. With the power of the internet, books and news articles can be downloaded at the speed of light.

Maybe we could get rid of school textbooks and give the kids ebooks instead.

Then make the bums pay for a subscription based service instead of rubbing themselves in the computer room.

    Where did this happen?

Ohhhhhh, OK: New York. Now I understand.

Down South here, there's three things we do well: guns, explosives, and electric fence chargers.

    Oh, and 4WDs.
