Someone stole Nova's Blue Room Thread, "Change and Hope" and posted it in the Daycare on Troll Kingdom. I saw it yesterday and I was hoping it would get dealt with yesterday. It's not cool, but I'm not sure if it's breaking any rules. http://www.trollkingdom.net/forum/showthread.php?t=119303
No, it's not cool to do shit like that, but also not terribly surprising, given the mentalities at the cesspool of TK.
I think this is the end of the Blue Room as you've known it. Ask me how if you can't spot it. And I'll be asked sooner or later: it wasn't me, and I've been banned from TK for a while.
Just a hunch, but perhaps this "blasphemy" is a rebel 'Forger. I know, I know, scapegoating TK is fun and easy, but this seems more representative of an endemic problem.
Oh, they're a member of Wordforge all right. The Blue Room isn't accessible unless you join the group as a member. I threw in my two cents. J.
The Blue Room is a free to opt in forum for everyone. You can't really expect things to be kept secret. I wouldn't expect a private forum to be kept secret either though.
No, but it's obviously a Wordforge member, and they're too fucking scared to show themselves. I consider that person to be a coward. J.
Of course it's not hard to do. Anybody with a WF account and a TK account can do it, but that doesn't make it right. If I understand the rules correctly here, what happens in the blue room, stays in the blue room.
You can't drag a Blue Room thread into another forum here. I have no control over what happens on other boards. Someone wants to be a chickenshit little fuckstain and pull this kind of deal, they're gonna do it.
A goal which will now inevitably be fulfilled. I'm not familiar with WF policy concerning info found elsewhere on the 'net, but I'll assume by these 'Tamarchives' I hear about that it's fairly liberal. To what degree I don't know. Here's what could happen now that stuff in the Blue Room is out in the wild: You could have a fresh trollite register and spew Blue Room info in-between token contributions. Taken care of with a stern talking to but let's up the stakes. What if the information doesn't come in the form of a thread obviously lifted from the Blue Room? What if it's just whispers coming down the grapevine? Unless you want to micromanage every fact revealed in the Blue Room and compare it to everything posted outside of that forum, the offending party will always be able to claim innocence due to the easy... 'laundering' if you will, of BR stuff. Something you might already have had to deal with, but made all the more difficult with this development. That's just the stuff that could happen on WF. I can't see what's going on in that thread and am not interested in finding out, but any TKer (Or disgruntled wordforger) can take sensitive info, revealed by a party they dislike or wish to annoy, and rip said party to shreds there. And come back to the Gray Room and say "Look what they are saying about you there..." The rule about not abusing what's posted there can be circumvented like that. It seemed obvious to me but I chose not to exploit it because it was a little extreme (I will assume wanting to troll a little bit here and there is still permitted, if not then that previous statement is just me showing off/trolling and not to be taken seriously. Whew, nice save, me.) BTW, my intention here is not to lay out a blueprint for something that would inevitably have happened, but rather to show how super awesome I am at this shit.
Perhaps you should go look at this rule again: Put simply, if someone is coming in and doing what you say they will be smacked down for it. As for this incident, it sucks that someone would do it, but really I don't think anyone operates under the assumption that the Blue Room is some secure location. It's not.
Personally, I'm laughing my ass off because the troll-worthy part of that thread - ain't in the first post, which was what was re-posted at TK. So much for the marvelously clever troll.
It's not really that big of a deal when you consider Shep made it public in the Green Room and of course it was in the Red Room. I'm surprised it actually took this long for it to be posted on TK.
And I'm certain that 95% of TK doesn't give a fuck about it anyway. It isn't like Shep/Nova even posts there. And it doesn't really have anything to do with a WF drama. Non-issue.
Of course, if missmanners thought that such an act was really low-class, she could PM me the IP address of that poster and I could find out who did it...
And I say again: you never, EVER post ANYTHING on the internet unless you are willing to have the entire world see it- because they probably will.
True. Thing is, not to give permission for anyone to violate board policy because I don't want to inadvertently ignite some dram or other but I don't really care who sees anything I've put online. I might be somewhat inconvenienced if some smart cookie cross referenced A with B and made the connection but it's really not a huge deal in the long run.
Well, the blue room wasn't always restricted like it is now. It's Nick Walczack's fault really. I made fun of him in the RR using BR info he posted. My logic was I can't troll him there but I can in the RR, so why not move the forum! After that everyone became way more anal and for some reason acted like anything they posted there was top fucking secret. Retards, really.
No, it really doesn't. There are no loopholes to be exploited here. Well correction, there are loopholes, however if someone tries to exploit loopholes they will be thanked for pointing them out and then given a warning for their trouble.
I don't personally think that it would be right to ask TK to do anything about this. The issue here is purely one of someone violating Wordforge rules/etiquette regarding the Blue Room, however as has been pointed out the Blue Room is not ultimately a secure location.
