IME, wikipedians are pretty good about keeping tabs on edits before they get out of hand. However, this is just... stupid.
The "Exclusionists" at Wikipedia are really dragging the place down. I read somewhere that a casual user now has a 25% chance of their edits getting reverted (compared to <5% for an insider). Why bother?
I was saying that years ago when they started deleting articles for not fitting in with their idea of a free and open source. Trivia started getting excluded as they wanted a more "professional" look, and if some subject was deemed silly, it was removed. How stupid. J.
An idiot recently deleted the page on the metal band Straight Line Stitch, claiming they did not meet "notability" criteria. Which was a blatant lie, since they've been on MTV and been featured in magazines, are signed to a label and have had a nationwide (US) album release. You can get the band's stuff on Amazon too. Basically just one example that I know of, of the bullshit that goes on at wikipedia central.
If you've been on MTV and also your records are being sold in record stores across the whole United States you're a notable band. No buts.
