I like how pretty much everyone who has posted comments say they didn't vote for him.

Most of the comments begin "I didn't vote for Obama" or "My brother in law voted for Obama". :dayton:

I have yet to see a post that does say "I voted for Obama and I regret it" and I doubt it would be real if I did. Not because I don't believe anyone regrets voting for him, but because 1. This is a giant troll and 2. Nobody would admit it if they did.

Obama will become a scapegoat for not being able to clean up Bush's mess

    Bullshit.

He is making more than enough of his own mess. The eternal excuse of Bush doesn't fucking fly anymore.

No, Obama will get the credit for taking Bush's mess and screwing it up worse.

I have to admit. Obama has certainly shown that Bush was an amateur at screwing things up. 6 months in and no one's talking about how GWB raised the deficit.

When Bush took office, Clinton has almost erased the deficit.

Actually, Obama didn't make the current mess and neither did Bush. The "Obama's only shortcoming is that he isn't capable of cleaning up the mess that Bush made" crowd are only showing how clueless they are. The same can be said of the "Clinton had everything running just fine" crowd.

It's that kind of shallow thinking, that evaluates only short-term results, that has produced the current situation. The mess we are in is about 80 years old. All the presidents, and all the congresses, are at fault, because none of them ever took the steps necessary to make the sytem work.

Little as I like Obama, Pelosi, and all the rest of the current bunch in charge, they are at blame for not taking the proper steps to straighten out the mess, but not for creating it. The same can be said of the Bush administration, the Clinton administration, the Republican Congress that actually got rid of the budget deficits, and all the other administrations, going way back. (Yes, that includes Reagan. And it would have included Goldwater, too, if he had been elected. And without a like-minded Congress, it would have included Ron Paul's administration, too, if he had been elected.)

So there is no way the Obama partisans can honestly pretend that Obama is doing a good job but simply can't straighten up the mess Bush made. Obama, Pelosi et al are neither capable of nor willing to take the steps necessary to put things right. Instead, they have simply created horrendous deficits (which don't seem to bother their partisans, who nevertheless screamed terribly about the Bush deficits) in order to try to give some sort of short-term solution, while making the long-term problem even worse.

Trying to blame Bush for that just shows the shallow thinking of those who will back Obama up at all turns. Bush was bad, but Obama is worse.

    This thread had me wondering:

If Bill Clinton could run for president again, would he be a definite win:huh:

I know this here post is a tangent off the main topic but I couldn't help but wonder about this "aloud" to see what WF'olks think, regardless of their partisanship or political swingings:)

Would Clinton use Gore for his Veep a second time around the block:huh:

He didn't say it outright, but I think this gives a clue that Async blames social spending for economic problems (and presumably wants to cancel it all) rather than the rise of financial speculation, which is just about 30 years old.
