    I think Cruise is a little taller than 5 feet. He's about average height: 5'8" or so.

    People make jokes about him wearing lifts and such, but I don't think that's true; he just has a tendency to date tall women. In the photo below, he's clearly an inch or two taller than Katie Holmes and he's not wearing special shoes of any kind...

    It would explain his paranoia with everything from antidepressants to Scientology bashers. Everywhere he goes, people look "down" on him. Sounds like a basic inferiority complex to me.
